Hmmm. Seems mediocre compared to previous bottles - just flat and never really shone, even over a couple days. Hmmm. Judgement deferred.

Aromas of baking spices/mixed spices, raw almond, floral and warm or burnt jam. The aroma tells me this is a 2009. On the palate this has cherries, unripe red currants, raspberry possibly. It shows somewhat hot, as in there is good fruit initially but then the acid and alcohol rise up quickly in the mid-palate and over take the fruit flavors, making the wine uninteresting. It's out of balance. It's great with food, we sat around at the end of the night sipping this with cookies and various other treats and it was really pleasant. On it's own it's hot and a little messy, which can be a good thing sometimes but not this time.

Light red. Great nose of roses, light red cherries, pencil shavings and thyme. Great light flavours. Dry finish. Should improve. The acid is huge but balanced.

Hate to use the B word but..

Nine more months in bottle made this an even better wine than the one we had last September. Same earthy fruit with mushrooms, but it had a little tomato skin and more herbs. Best $20ish OR pinot on the market.

Part of 2011 Oregon Pinot Noir tasting.
Lighter style
- Nose of floral notes, ripe raspberry and red cherry
- On the palate red cherry and mineral notes.

B+. Don't remember much about this except that Evesham Wood almost always tastes good. The only problem is when I open them too soon.

A stunning pinot noir that is showing wonderfully. Nose develops over the course of a couple of hours in great ways: initially very floral and light, but within an hour shows deepening dark cherry, blueberry aroma, still mixing with darker floral notes. The palate is bright and nicely acidic at first, and becomes darker over the next couple hours, with an earthiness mingled with some background spice, more dark cherry notes and ongoing balanced acidity. Very pure pinot noir, with no evident manipulation and no evident sense of oak. One of the best expressions of this grape. Definitely not near any peaking point heading downward. I'm moving my drinking date out another year to 2017, since next year's deadline seems too close.

I liked this wine a year ago and I like it more now. On opening, it had a really odd, off-putting wet basement smell. I thought something might be wrong with my glass so I switched glasses. It wasn't the glass. But the wine itself was fine. After about 30 minutes the icky smell disappeared. At that point, the wine was beautiful - bright red, sweet strawberry/cherry fruits, enough acid to carry and a finish that was dusty, spicy-tart and long. Very nice wine - better value.

A really nice wine. Red fruit, earth, really nicely balanced. The nose doesn't particularly scream Oregon PN as I like to experience, but nonetheless a good wine. I need to continue to get Evesham Wood from whereever I can.

Purchased and consumed at a restaurant and thus no notes. Expressive nose of red fruits, florals and earthy/brambly aromas. Nice depth and intensity of fruit flavors, and with that same rustic character as on the nose. Juicy mouthfeel with plenty of structure and grip. Overall an intriguing, fruity, bright, complex wine that is drinking great now, and will certainly improve over the next few years. I obviously had a very different wine from the one described by the most recent previous tasters.

Bold nose of ripe cherries and strawberries, tobacco pouch, incense, dried roses and faint hints of earthy forest floor. Silky across the palate with fine tannin and balanced acidity, and dark fruit flavors with earth and spice. There's a bit of heat in the finish. This isn't as aromatically pleasing to me as the 2010 or 2011, but it's balanced and drinking better now.

Pretty disjointed in it's youth. Nice complexities of ripe fruit, forrest floor, fungus, cedar, tobacco but not coming together at this stage even on the 3rd day. I would recommend holding for a few more years at least.

Nose was initially a bit sweet and jammy, but morphed quickly into a pleasant nose of cherry, strawberry, spice and sous bois. Medium weight with bright, fresh, focused red fruits, spice and forest floor. Seamless, silky, slightly creamy, perfectly balanced and nice grip. Overall, a really elegant, brightly flavored, delicious pinot that drinks way above its price point.

Popped one of these in the name of science. Yuck. Totally basic. Bar-b-q-ee. Again, yuck. At least right now. Hope it gains some complexity. Vineyard track record indicates that it will. We'll see....

Dark ruby in the glass. Aromas of black cherry, perfume and tobacco. The overall impression is light and nuanced. More fruit than earth, and not a surprise for the vintage. The wine is balanced and has plenty of acidity for aging potential. Drink now or later.

Good fruit, not especially complex but it has good structure nonetheless. For the price, a very fine wine. It has clearly improved with additional bottle age, although i doubt it will get any better at this point.

Enjoyed with friends over a mixed shellfish dinner side by side with Chablis. Typical of 2011 Oregon pinot noir in that it lighter colored but atypical otherwise. It has a lovely floral nose, medium body, very good cherry-strawberry fruit, a spicy long lasting finish where a little licorice hangs out and light tannins. Very satisfying both with the meal and without. At a perfect point in its window.

Decanted 1 hr. This wine is in a pretty good place right now, it certainly has put on weight since my last bottle in 2007, complex, red fruits, but rich and tasty. Tannin and acidity are well blended and in unison with the rest of wine. Should hold for a few years with ease, not sure if it will improve dramatically, so I’d be inclined to drink now and without reservation.

Consumed over two days. I liked it. Better on day one, more shut down on day two. Textbook OR pinot from a good vintage. Lots of stuffing. Should improve quite a bit as it could be a bit fat now.

Still very tight and compact, this is a loaded 12 Oregon Pinot to watch, primarily for its rustic framework and edgy character blended into a new-world gush of wild flowers and red fruit. At this stage, the wine is so tight that it literally jams all of its concentrated and textured beauty through a tiny hole in the nose, which is absolutely awesome at this point. My hunch is that this will open up throughout in the coming years...drink 2016-2030.

This is a lovely wine. I liked the 2010 and 2011 vintages as well, but this is more balanced and immediately approachable. The nose is rich with ripe strawberry, ripe bramble patch and forest floor with hints of sweet tobacco and oak. The tannin is balanced underneath bright and generous acidity giving it a long finish. One of my favorites from the vintage so far.

This bottle seems a little less developed than previous bottles. Still delicious and good all around -- just not quite as big a nose and palate as previous few years. Perhaps because these notes are within the first hour, it may be too early to take notes -- perhaps will show better a few hours later. Will get back to these notes.

PNP. Cork perfect. Color ruby w clearing edges. On opening this was super tight, nose not giving much of anything. Passed thru vinturi. Still tight. With 1.5 hrs this started showing, nose w slightly medicinal cherry and damp earth. Swishing shows the acid structure loud and clear w a tart somewhat astringent finish. Sipping tells another story. Cherry and spice flavor smooth med weight very balanced and polished. Finish balanced and pleasant. Old world style that I really appreciate.
