Au restaurant, à Whistler Mountain, pas de notes formelles. Carafé. Très bon cabernet de la région de l'Okanagan, accompagnait à merveille le Long bone rib-eye (44 onces à 2.......).

Light yellow. Clean, refreshing, balanced wine. Lemon flavours and good strong acidity. Not overly complex, but delicious nonetheless.

Smells like plum, cherry, rubber tire, pepper and a hint of barbecue potato chip. After a while, the dominant aroma is rubber tire with blue fruit. Tastes like a juicy plum, cut with some chocolate, chilli pepper, a bit of that rubber tire, blueberry and hazelnut. It sounds wacky and out of balance, but it works. The 2009 was much better, but this is well made wine.

Nose of cherry and earth. Tastes like bitter chocolate and cherry, with a slight vegetal component. Long finish.

This just keeps getting better. Huge nose of black cherry and dark, dark chocolate. Extremely intense cherry and blackberry flavor, with just a touch of forest (canopy, bark and floor). It's so juicy and tasty that the tannins aren't noticeable... at first. But eventually – after the long finish of chocolate, espresso, charcoal and strawberry faded – my tongue and inner cheeks told me there was still some tannin present.

Drank along side 2006 madcap. Both were great, but loved what a little age brought to wine. Need to go buy some of Bills wine and lie them down. Fairview is one of my go to BC Reds.

Love Bills wines. 2006 and still going strong. Clear dark purple in color. Clean nose of cassis, black cherry, and spice. Dry, med acidity, med body, elegant tannins, black currant, licorice, and chocolate on palate. Nice finish. Drank along side 2011, and the 2006 was still holding its own.

Light to medium bodied. Red and black berry fruit flavours with the balance leaning towards black fruit. Some minerality. Pleasant finish. Good with food. A nice wine that gives a sense of being real and not manipulated.

Opened a week ago and, true to all of Bill's reds, is still growing. This wine has always been exceptional and gets better with every bottle I open. Complex with cedar notes and a languorous finish. My only regret is that I have so little left.
The wine looks purple colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has low acidity.

Had this last night, after the Fairview Madcap red (2007).
This Bear was fantastic. Took a bit of time to open up (would recommend decanting for one hour). I kick myself for not having several of these. Now I could only replace it with the 2010.

Clear dark purple in color. Clean nose of black fruit and vanilla. Dry, med acidity, med+ body, smooth tannis, big black fruit, vanilla, and spice on palate. Nice finish. Wow, this is a great wine. It is expensive, but truly is a comparable red to hotter climates. This wine will change your ideas of BC reds. Once again Bill sets the bar for other BC winemakers.

Ski in Okanagan valley with Le Vieux Pin winemakers. (Osoyoos, BC, Canada): Blind tasting. Dark hue. An easy to guess Bordeaux blend, close to the left bank style. But the structure is lacking tannins, making this wine seductive for beginners and fast-wine drinkers. Some one would talk about elegance. I don't. Still, it is very well made, and really appreciable. It does teach me a lot of what this Okanagan Valley can reach. Interesting expression of Cabernet.
