Profits from air, decant! Needs more time, still very young.
Dark purple red with a transparent rim
Feral, fresh red fruit
Fruity body with pleasantly structured tannins that linger,. Pnp there was a varnishy note that gradually disappears with time

Pnp
Drunk this one far too young and with only a short decant. therefore, not fair to assign it a score
It was much more closed off than the 2013 cote Rotie alongside it was drunk. The fruit was also very ripe and black and showed the heat of the vintage
Beyond that, I would say it was in a muted phase of its development

This is showing just beautifully right now--right in the pocket. Briny olive, fresh crushed herbs, the charred flesh of something sacrificial, tart jam, and an oily-fatty finish. Not too salty or too bold. (It gives soft pagan ceremony vibes, perhaps?) Fits a wagyu steak like a glove.

Ferraton is a lower-tier Hermitage producer but I'd say this is superior to upper-tier producers' lower-tier wines. (Huh?) So...this ain't no La Chapelle but it surely outshines La Maison Bleue, especially with 8 years of age. This ain't no Chave flagship but it would make an interesting comparison with Farconnet.

Leave it open for a while. It balances after about an hour, and some mineral hints emerge. A wonderfully tantalizing wine--it seems to teeter on the cusp of some overwhelming flavor that never arrives, but this edging helps us appreciate its subtle profile all the more.

Vin structuré mais encore trop jeune. Gagne en équilibre après 36h d’aération. À attendre, ou carafer plutôt, la profondeur des tanins étant moindre que leur puissance.

100% Marsanne from vineyards in Mercurol. Aged for 10 months on the lees. 12,5% alcohol. Tasted blind.

Pale, limpid and quite youthful yellow-green color. The nose feels fragrant, youthful and slightly restrained with aromas of mealy yellow apples and chopped almonds, some crunchy notes of quince, light cantaloupe tones, a little bit of leesy creaminess, a sweet hint of ripe nectarine and a touch of something waxy. The wine feels ripe, broad and slightly oily on the palate with a full body and somewhat sweet-toned flavors of yellow apples and cantaloupe, some vague spicy tones, a little bit of honeyed richness, light floral nuances, a hint of waxy character and a touch of oatmeal. Although the wine isn't big in size, the overall mouthfeel is somewhat substantial and somewhat viscous. The moderately high acidity lends some balance to the wine. The finish is rich, ripe and sweet-toned with a long, juicy aftertaste of cantaloupe, some honeyed tones, a little bit of apple jam, light nutty notes of chopped almonds, a hint of vague spicy character and a touch of waxy richness.

A nice and varietally correct Marsanne with pretty good sense of balance. The overall feel is still a bit young and there's a bit of that baby fat that might drop off if the wine is given enough age. I'd say let the wine age at least a few years more, but even another 7-ish might not hurt! Enjoyable stuff.

Beautiful bouquet with red and dark berries, herbs and spices and a firm dose of oak. On the palate the same impressions, chocolate, juicy acidity, minerals and still slightly sticky tannin. Beautiful wine in its young maturity stage. 92 - 93

Somewhat clenched on day 1 with the palate not delivering on the potential promised by the nose, missed on day 2 with a belly ache, a bit past prime on day 3, recommend holding or decanting in the short term. 90 ish.

Nose: Vanilla raspberry cream; unfinished weathered wood. Palate: Mildly tart raspberry, autumn foliage, earthy decomposition on the finish, old nursery after it rains. With time in the glass, the tart raspberry degrades a bit into dried red fruit and potpourri. Improves on day two, with sweet rose, baked plums, and mulled spices taking over for the oxidized fruit from the day prior.

Purple colour. Earthy nose - bit of funk but that blows off. Somewhat austere palate, and on opening it kind of washes out at the finish. A bit of air really brings it together - still somewhat austere perhaps but the acid comes in and it starts to become slightly thrilling - and the finish gets longer and denser. The last sip was by far the best. Suspect that this is just coming into the zone - no harm to drink now but I think it’s only improving.

Another day and another great wine! Classical, but affordable Syrah 31€
Deep purple color. A lot of blueberries and tons of black currant in the smell ( my 2 favorite aromas) Also black cherry, plum, minerals.
Taste? Tons of black currants! Plums, black cherry, black chocolate and a lot of spice
It sounds simple, but the wine has great structure, harmony and balance with perfect acidity and tannins
Long, delicious, juicy finish.

2015 was extraordinary. Still tannic, youthful or slow to mature according to the WA Vintage Guide - 97 points!

60% Serine and 40% Syrah. Distinct smokiness standing out on the nose, folded in with an otherwise floral and rich set of aromas. On the palate it was a true mouthful, with tobacco on top of classic (to me) Syrah creamy body. Strong tannins on the finish. This finished middle of the pack in our blind and comprehensive tasting of Northern Rhone. (Faury VV and Barruol Crozes-Hermitage Tiercerolles took top places).

Day 1: Rocks, mild funk, spice, raspberries, white pepper, sour cherry, floral and earth. While the descriptors sound good the finish is really weak. Not really able to give it a score at this time.
Day 3: Disappointing. Le Meal should be better so not scoring this wine as I think it had everything to do with the vertical storage on the top shelf a local liquor store.
Recommendation: This wine is not enough to put the flaw button but the storage was not ideal and another example of wine shops not providing the consumer with proper storage conditions.
