Orchard fruit with a nice toasted oak note in the background. Medium-bodied with flavors of orchard fruit, toasted coconut and lemon. Easy to pick out as chardonnay. Interestingly, an equal blend of Sonoma and Mendocino county fruit. (J&L) |

12/26/2023 - cephomer Likes this wine: 92 pointsDrank at the Pollacks for xmas eve. This is my last bottle, and this wine remains in very good shape, surprisingly. Nose has a pleasant nose of black fruit, some tar and still aromas of vanilla. Medium bodied, showing a lot of bricking at the edges of my glass, Still a solid fruit level--cassis and blackberry --along with some very nice complexity--notes of tobacco, tar, cedar with spice. Tannins are fully resolved. Well-balanced cab that definitely benefited from years in the cellar. |

12/2/2023 - Delund Likes this wine: 92 points1 hour decant, let it warm up a bit to 64 F. Medium garnet color with a slight bit of bricking. Blackberry fruit, a hint of acetone, a passing bit of earthy funk, a touch of barnyard that quickly passed on the nose. Elegant, well-integrated wine across the board at this point, still has a bit of acidity. Slightly sweet blackberry and cassis fruit on the palate, may be fading just a bit, but still assertive and pleasant. Notes of dried leather, cedar and a touch of dark chocolate. Lingering drying finish. Drink now. |

11/23/2023 - Lee Mod 3 Likes this wine: 93 pointsThis was the second oldest wine consumed at a large family Thanksgiving. It was superb. Sadly, it was somewhat overshadowed by being drunk right after a magnificent 2006 Fisher Lamb Cab Sauv. The CF had some richer flavors, such as anise, which some tasters found off-putting. To be fair, the mature CF might not have been the best pick to go with the traditional turkey dinner. It did benefit from being opened a couple hours before drinking, though, and for those of us who like CF, we REALLY enjoyed this one. |

11/23/2023 - Lee Mod 3 wrote: 94 pointsThis was the best wine (of many) consumed with Thanksgiving dinner 2023. Had a large group and reserved this bottle for the principal -- and most "mature" adults -- those most likely to appreciate it. Had some trouble removing the 17 year old cork, so decanted through a strainer into -- of all things -- a large glass pitcher from my sister's Tri-delta sorority from long ago. Despite this perhaps disrespectful treatment, the decanting served us well: the wine opened up really well on the nose, with lots of complexity. And to taste, well, words kind of fail me -- rich mouthfeel -- ridiculously smooth, strong but balanced flavors. Perfect complement to a Thanksgiving feast prepared by three relatives who really know their way around the kitchen. |

10/6/2023 - Delund Likes this wine: 92 points1 hour decant, which really benefitted this wine (initially thinking this was an 89 point wine, but after 90 minutes, I was in love). 60 F. Dark rich ruby color with long legs. Expressive nose of blackberry fruit, notes of leather, sandalwood, vanilla and eucalyptus. Initially aggressive acidity integrated a bit with time and air, but was still the one element that needed a few more years of age. Silky tannins, no noticeable heat and oak was well-integrated. Dense body. Lovely dark fruits, dark chocolate, cedar and smoke on the palate. Long lingering finish with just a bit of grip. Have to think this will benefit from a few more years of age. |

10/6/2023 - iamandyc Likes this wine: 94 pointsThis is a beautiful wine that is drinking very well right now. It has nice viscosity without being heavy on the palate. Nice deep fruit that leans purple and dark red. Glides to a rich finish. It is balanced. Only complaint is that the wine lacks layers of complexity. Suave and nuanced but not thought provoking. Glad I got to try one!! |
