Garnet. Slightly medicinal nose. Cola and cherry, with some mint, tarragon and plums. Not the best showing. Something funky that didn't blow off. Perhaps needs a little more time in bottle and decanting.

Yellow apple on the nose. Nice mix of citrus and stone fruit on the palate. Pleasant finish. Well balanced.

initial nose of coffee, chocolate, and maple syrup. After decanting an hour, it showed flavors of tart cherry, Compari, and that maple sweetness. Finish was rather long.

Deep garnet. Cherry, currant and raspberry nose. Delicious. Some cherry and tobacco to start transitioning to rosemary and cola. Beautifully integrated flavors and tannins with a lovely acid counterpoint.

A big Californian pinot that isn't obviously pinot at first, but it has a good palate. Very approachable and obviously a pinot from a warmer climate.

Slightly opaque red/purple with the rim fading into pink, thin legs; Youthful nose that really fills the glass of cherry and plum, light intensity wet stone aromas, light oak; on the palate the fruit is really singing through, a bit more tart though - sour cherry reminiscent of cold climate, light oak; Mid+ body and complexity, low sweetness, mid+ complexity, mid+ finish that goes on for a while. Very enjoyable.

Clear white wine, yellow with silver around the rim; mid intensity nose, grapefruit aromas and minerality; on the palate green apple and butterscotch, with hints of light oak. Lower alcohol, mid acidity, mid complexity, mid-short finish. Clearly showing the colder coast chard. Delicious.

Burgundy color with a bouquet and flavor of raspberries and typical Pinot Noir spiciness that I find hard to pinpoint in a better fashion. This wine was fairly well drawn with some depth, and yet it was more subdued than a forceful wine such as a Martinelli Pinot Noir, although much more vibrant than the tired Burgundy wines. I can't be sure whether this was the winemaker's choice, or failure. It was similar to the 2010 Block 11.

No need to decant. Bright aroma with complex PN flavors on first pour that just kept getting better. A very nice bottle of wine. Brunch included beets, fish, Blue Crab, pork, cheese and chocolate and this wine complemented everything.

Burgundy color with a bouquet and flavor of raspberries with typical Pinot Noir spiciness. Good balance and a nice finish, but holding back a bit, with some damping down. I have found this recently in some of the Flowers wines. Still, very pleasant.

Burgundy color with a bouquet and flavor reminiscent of a damped down Pinot Noir, with less fruit and less expansiveness. Still not unpleasant, but also not very exciting.

Palate: Cherry cola, clove with med acidity, integrated tannin and a med+ finish.

Overall this was great. Really enjoyed the flavor and structure and it is drinking pretty well right now but certainly can lay down for 2-3 years. Enjoy!

Garnet, burgundy claire. Sweet, plummy nose that developed in the glass. Went dumb after half an hour then re-emerged with a delicate, floral nose. Raspberries, sweet cherries, some pipe tobacco, wet earth and cedar. This is a lovely delicate wine that is drinking beautifully.

I am amazed at the quality of this relatively modestly priced pinot noir. There's a serious amount of complexity in its light to medium bodied flavors, with modest oak, cherry, pomegranate, clove and spice profile. While it did not grow in the glass over a couple of hours, it didn't fade either, so it's probably as good as it will be. Good acidity without being excessive. A different style from many California pinot noirs, lighter but more interesting.

A bit thin, even with an hour decant. Not bad, I was just hoping for more given the reputation of the winery.

Very pleasantly surprised with this as a kind replacement bottle from the winery. Fruit was still nice and round with some tertiary favors coming through. Quite impressed with how this aged. I would have been hard pressed to say this was 13 years.

West of West Wine Festival (West Sonoma Coast Vintners) (City Winery - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. Red berry aromas and flavors woth good background spice. Slightly leaner than most with good structure and textures. Firm for now, give this another year or three.

Deep ruby in color and flaunting aromas of spicy raspberries, pickling spice, earth and black tea, this wine is yet another amazing iteration of the Flowers Sonoma Coast blend. Medium-bodied and with crisp acidity, it has light-to-medium sweet tannins and unnoticeable alcohol (despite being listed as 13.9%). Rich and deep in the middle, it closes with impressive length. Flowers should be on the radar of any oenophile who enjoys top-notch Pinot from the New World. Bravo!!! Drink now-2022.
