Definitely representative of Napa! Fantastic nose opens up this fruit forward Zin. Blackberry and cherry smother the palate and the flavor lingers very nicely for an '05 vintage. Pleasantly surprised as I'm not a frequent Zin drinker and this one has some age to it.

Wow! Im so happy I waited to drink this bottle. It was singing after 15 minutes. Opened up into layers of creamy cassis and velvety plush black cherries. I wish I had another!

APPEARANCE: Long legs with a medium to dark red color
AROMA: Plum, pepper, and baking spices
TASTE: Kind of flat on the palate. Would assume this was a much cheaper Cabernet and not from Napa. Enjoyable to drink, but the price point is a bit high for this effort

Traditional Zin. Fruit was very light and quite hot. Single dimensional with very little finish.

First dinner prepared in our new home in Auburn -- seared steer and salad. Both cow and wine excellent.

New World fruit bomb. Deep, dark juice. Plum and animal barnyard nose. Explosive first burst of flavor all across the palate. Plum, blackberry jam, full flavor throughout, flavor pattern repeating itself into the finish. Continues to develop even at the very end.

Appearance: Clear wine with a medium ruby colour, bordering on deep.

Nose: Clean nose with a medium intensity. This wine has really just started development and could still be considered youthful.

Quite a simple nose of fresh black fruit, cedarwood and herbaceous notes - capsicum is particularly pronounced here.

Palate:
Alcoholic: Medium+
Tannins: Medium
Acidity: Medium
Body: Medium
Intensity: Medium+
Finish: Medium+

Also quite simple but fresh on the palate - under-ripe red cherries, blackberries and green bell pepper combine to create a typical Cabernet Sauvignon profile. Some notes of Anis but generally a youthful wine.

Good Quality Californian Cabernet Sauvignon. Can drink now but developing and should drink well for 5-10 more years at least. Could potentially open into something quite interesting.

As others have mentioned, this is a very good, smooth, middle of the road Zin. It's not a high alcohol fruit bomb but rather a light and somewhat sophisticated Zin with mellow dark fruit and a lingering, but muted spicy finish. This would be a good Zin for the Cab lover or someone not quite ready for an in-your-face Dry Creek Zin. A strong 89 points. Widely distributed.

Young, and has some great potential. Smoothed out nicely once aerated in my glass, and paired with the flavors of veal osso bucco.
Cheers!

Decanted for 3 plus hours, ultra clean cork, jammy nose but no depth. Palate is thin, minimal fruit which is predictable perhaps given other comments on this medium. It is drinkable but it is tired and well past its best. I was keen to return to Zinfandel/Primitivo at a realistic price but, unfortunately, this is not a very good start.

A very typical cabernet sauvignon nose of blackcurrant, eucalyptus and lavender. The palate shows med+ acidity, high tannin, a full body with a long finish. This wine is almost a tuning fork for what a typical cabernet sauvignon should taste like.
