Brought to La Poste and enjoyed with several small plates.
This wine was divine upon opening, with grassy notes up front and red grapefruit in the background, and all lightly drizzled with honey. The wine was med in body, with a tense and energetic acidity lending to the excitement this wine offers with each sip. The grapefruit and spice note lingers on the delicious finish.
This is a wonderfully balanced and complex wine, just entering into it's drinking window. It will continue to further improve for another 2-3 years, and drink nicely through 2022+, although having very little experience with older Sancerre's, I would err on the "sooner" side.

Super lean and chalky, 'nothing in excess' as Tanzer remarked of the 2010...the aromatics bring to mind Cab Franc at times; there's an alluring cinnamon component on the finish. My first Boulay rose and hopefully not my last.

Pale salmon color; hints of blood orange on the slightly reticent nose of this popped & poured wine.

"Cool" and crisp on the palate. My first look at the current vintage, and while this is always a mandatory case purchase for me in the Spring, the wine comes across as slightly dilute with this first glass. I'm planning on pairing this up with some grilled arctic char in about an hour or so, so we'll see if it opens up with food.

A lovely Sauvignon Blanc. It has grapefruit, other tropical fruits and just a little grassy component. Very nice acidity and a round, full mouth feel.

Friggin delicious. Clear and bright, with a pale lemon straw colour. Very minerally and crisp on the nose, not showing much fruit, just a tinge of citrus and apple. Palate is long, fresh, crisp and delicious. Loads of apple and lemon acidity with a nice mineral spine to the fruit. Lingers on the palate for almost a minute. Lovely, lovely finish.

As expected from Boulay a great classic example of sancerre. Great minerality and acidity with a balance of fruit against greet herbs and pepper. Just wonderful with food. Young and lovely example.

Nose: Saffron, pineapple, passion fruit, candle wax, cream. Palate: the biggest of the set. Maybe less concentrated acids than the La Cote, very rich, textured but with an extremely quick cut and very fine.

Nose: exotic, kaffir, lemongrass, preserved lemons, lime, mint, slate. Palate: highly concentrated in acidity but with the fruit to back it up, very long finish, maybe botrytis. Finely textured throughout its steeliness.

Oeil dorée;
Ensemble harmonieux & digeste. Bonne intensité mais tout est sous contrôle. Très bien!

Very intense citrus on opening, good acidity, then more balance, light pear / apple, some mineral and the citrus toned down on days 2 and 3. Paired with baked parmesan halibut on first day, was a nice match.

Exceptionnel Sancerre. Il a gagné en volume, avec des notes de miel et d'agrumes, une évolution magnifique pour ce cru après presque dix ans. Belle finale sur des notes florales et de fruits confits. Bien heureux d'en avoir une bouteille restante.

All of the Boulay 2013 Sancerres I have tasted have been spectacular. My favorite is the Clos de Beaujue, which is slightly leaner than this. The Monts Damnes has a relatively large amount of baby fat. It is approachable and even slightly sweet upon first tasting. At first, one's impression is of gorgeous fruit with a dense, mineral-laden back end. After about two hours, it begins to express a panoply of flavors – smoke, citrus, juicy red fruit. This is great winemaking at a price-point that I think few can approach.

From memory. Enjoyed at a busy dinner table full of conversations and lots of kids (plenty of distraction). Green tinged straw in color. orchard fruit on the exotic side of white (ripe pear), with some honey and quinine. Very lively on the palate with bright citrus, some sweetness as well as a little smokey salinity. I would like to see this in a few years. With one bottle left, barring tragedy, I will have that opportunity.

Found this in the fridge on day 3...nose is pretty subdued by now. Faint bit of citrus, maybe. In the mouth, very big flavors of tart citrus and tons of acidity on the attack, a bit of fruitiness in the middle and then finishing bracing and tart. I like it a lot.
