You have to dig to get the fruit here, otherwise it’s mostly non fruit notes that gets in your nostrils. The wine itself is decent juice, to me maybe a hypothetical blend of Macon Chard and Rhone Marsanne Rousanne. |

6/24/2022 - trequer wrote: 93 pointsThe wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, blueberry, black currant (cassis), prune, plum, forest floor, espresso, sandalwood and vanilla. It tastes like meaty. The body is medium/full. The wine has a polished texture. The wine finishes long, and has medium acidity. |

12/31/2021 - DDempsey wrote: NRVery disappointed. Special occasion wine from several years in our cellar. It seemed weak and lacking body. In fact , the 2015 Anderson Conn Valley cab we had 3 days before was more impressive. When you pay that much for a bottle of wine, your expectations are high. Won’t buy that one again. DD |

12/25/2021 - tederf Likes this wine: 94 pointsChristmas Eve dinner with friends. Two hour decant. Main course was standing rib roast and this paired perfectly. Such a yummy wine. Tannins softened over the years. Vanilla, cherry and some raspberry. Lucky I have one more in the cellar. |

This opened up after 90 minutes. I agree with the below last noted. BBQ wine with travel friends. I still think it was ove priced at $100. Not complaining. In 2021, there's much better value out there at $75. |

4/18/2021 - jst914 Likes this wine: 99 pointsIt's been 3 years since we last tried this wine and it has only gotten better with age, flirting with perfection (probably warrants a perfect score)! Was wine of the night and was declared epic by one of the participants. Two people guessed it was a mature Bordeaux based on the nose which was stunning, and reinforced my belief that this wine is an absolutely perfect integration of old and new world wine styles. Lots of dark cherry with a youthfulness that belies its 19 year old age. This wine is in the perfect drinking window and extremely hard to imagine that it can possibly get any better. It was our last bottle and we were able to share it with dear friends making it a truly magnificent experience. If you are one of the fortunate few to own this wine, I highly recommend pulling out a bottle and enjoying it at your next special occasion. |

11/28/2020 - slywka7 Likes this wine: 92 pointsOpened at 3:30 but did not decant. Aromas of blackberry, currant, lead pencil, plum and dusty berry. Flavors of black cherry, blackberry, currant, balsamic and leather. Ends with a 30-35 second finish with black cherry notes. Has a bit of a twang to it. Not as good as the previous bottle. |

Sweet red and blue fruits, some green pepper vegetal aftertaste, decent acidity. This was a mystery case throw in from ACVV so fun to have and to open but don't think I would seek these out for purchase. |

5/23/2020 - slywka7 wrote: 92 pointsDecanted for 1 hour. Aromas of current, blackberry, dried cherry, touch or heat and eucalyptus. Flavors of blackberry, currant, touch of plum and cherry. Ends with a big finish of 30+ seconds with cherry and blackberry notes. Much better than the last bottle but still assume this was better in it's youth. Has some nice fruit but it's a bit disjointed, which knocks the score done a bit. Will update the note if this changes as I'm drinking it. |

4/5/2020 - ClaudioMac1 wrote: 88 pointsUnripe fruit. Green peppers. Atypical for a Napa cab. I’ve had much better from 2010 vintage so we can’t blame that. Maybe they picked early? Just doesn’t show the kind of elegance and fruit I’d expect from the location and vintage. |
