2015 Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les FuéesPinot Noir more |
3/21/2024 - Topper wrote: 95 pointsGraceful wine with sweet red fruit - almost raspberry sherbet. Some grip underneath and hints of orange and current. Delicious now but will need to wait another ten years for the secondary flavors to emerge. Price seems to be escalating rapidly on this one |

3/19/2024 - wxs2102 Likes this wine: 93 points@ Oiji Mi NYC. Infanticide for sure but have a case and had to try it out. Big, herbaceous nose with linoleum coming through, mellowing out to tart cherry over time. Deep, almost opaque crimson. What gets me is the contrast of weight (some 1er and young Musigny in here) and weightlessness - dense and material on the palate, ephemeral on the finish like Ravel’s Scarbo. No sign of the hot vintage - the low-intervention style shines through beautifully in Mugnier 2020s. This will definitely deliver upside with some patience. |

3/13/2024 - BenBlu Likes this wine: 97 pointsGosh this was good - poured blind I thought of Mugnier Amoureuses 02, pleased to find out I was quite close. What an 01 though! Visually fairly developed, a very welcoming nose with plenty of baking spice, entering very soft on the palate, superb inner sweetness on the soft and relaxed but long mid palate with plenty of minerality. No rusticity here just polished, round, lands on the palate like cashmere. The four of us went thourgh this bottle in about 10 minutes which speak to the crazy buvabilite. All you want in Burgundy and in such a good place. now-2040 |

3/13/2024 - burg_gram_Jason Likes this wine: NRWorth opening one right now, very expressive, full on red fruit and heady florals and while soft and ethereal silk on the tongue, the finish is intense, memorable and long lasting. Incredibly delicious right now and has the energy to cellar as long as any of us wine drinker can hope to live. |

Rich and subtle at the same time, with so many layers coming through over the several sips I was able to enjoy from my healthy pour. Still wonderfully young and robust. As good as I can ever recall for this wine. |

A bit of mintiness on the palate, led us to think this was some sort of village-level Ramonet (though the oak felt wrong to me); it falls off dramatically on the midpalate to the finish and there's a bit of dilution that really detracts. |

2/14/2024 - Sean Tay Likes this wine: 95 pointsAlways enjoyed Mugnier wine. Clos de la Marechale is probably the cheapest but yet the closest to the bigger appellation to try his style. Pronounced nose intensity with notes of mushroom, earth, toast, red fruits, flora. Medium+ acidity and medium tannin. 2006 is consider a weaker vintage but drinking very well now. |
