Silky, elegant, but neither as open nor as expressive as other 07's have been. Likely this should be held a while.

Surprising good and elegant. Ready to drink now and should able to keep. A generous bouquet and palate you don't expect from a NSG village at this price.

This is now nicely mature, with soft, elegant fruit, medium weight and good length. Harmonious and very enjoyable. A good wine from a lighter year.

Pine, orange and some floral lift on the nose. Palate is decent, though not especially exciting in any way. Mediocre character at the moment.

Disappointing experience. Very tight and unyielding. Color has started to brick but the palate is largely hard and closed. Not sure this ever comes around. Not the fireworks that I had hoped for.

Dinner with Gavin at Bistrode: Opened about 2.5 hours prior and had closed up a bit since. Rhubarb, cherry, stem and blood - quite dark fruited and tight. Palate is also tight but had good balance and length. Give it time.

Dinner with Gavin at Bistrode: Floral lift, lovely aromatic nose, spices, smoke, autumn leaves and a bit of a cola element as well. Quite bright on the palate thanks to the acidity and bright fruit. Good length and early enjoyability.

Burgundy Dinner with a Friend (Spiaggia - Chicago IL): Good red cherry with spice hints and an emerging earthiness. Lighter styled for Bonnes Mares, this is prototypically 2007 in its forward character.

One the nose: red cherry, roses petals, licorice, and cloves. A pleasant Villages wine with the trademark Chambolle nose. Drink up

Second wine at the NSG tasting. A light rusty red wine with perfume and stable notes on the nose. Surprising few characters on the nose and on the palette. It is a straight forward wine with some acidity. I believe the wine is just closed and needs time to age. It may have entered its sleeping phase at the moment.

Opened the night before and served blind. Light yellow. Pear-like aromas that immediately made me guess Chenin Blanc. Fairly lush and then a strongly earthy finish. Even knowing at this point that it was not that varietal, it still resembled Savennieres more than anything else. Interesting.

Drank from 0.375 bottle with a rich a decadent Coq au Vin. Very pretty aromatics of dark cherries, dark berries, tar/graphite, some sweet spices like licorice and some leather. It's medium-full bodied with medium acidity and still medium+ tannin. Good length. A very expessive NSG at the beginning of the drinking window.

This is nuits st georges. Wonderful. Limpid color, maturing (375). Nose of black and red fruits, fur, earth, bramble, mineral. Rustic and suave in the same breath. Just poking into it's window in half, this will no doubt improve and improve. Le Villaret, Paris.
