In mouth the wine is creamy loads of acidity (insuring ageability) and mildly present tannins. Fairly significant wine which is worth finding. |

2/5/2024 - GJVines Likes this wine: 92 points2nd bottle of Merlot on a night with my friend and pizza, and it was 5 days ago, so no detailed tasting notes, but we both enjoyed this wine, although it was not as good as our first bottle of the evening. Opened, decanted, and then started drinking immediately, I recall it had a pleasant tanginess and that nice mouthfeel you get from a good merlot. Seems like it is in a good drinking window now. |

Aromatically I get apricot, tropical fruit and a slight amount of cedar wood. In mouth the wine reveals the wood expression which imparts a creamy texture and mouth coating softness. I get tropical fruits like mango and banana. The finish adds tangerine. This wine might even increase in score as it's that good. |

Everyone that drank it liked the white; the "very occasional" wine drinkers loved the Caymus, and people that drink wine more often really liked this merlot. Given the nature of the party, it was all PnP. The oakiness of the wine noted in earlier years had totally resolved; it was harmonious, interesting, and delicious. A great choice for a large group where price is a consideration but you still want to serve something good. |
