in addition to the expected cherry and plum notes, I got some rhubarb to make this a distinctive pinot - the finish is a clove and cinnamon blend.

Very well made wine. It held together over three nights while I drank it. It aged gracefully and became more old world as time went on. It had been an unruly teenager upon release and now is a productive, contributing member of society.

Fantastic, the age on this really highlights the leather, mushroom, earthy qualities.

Cellared since purchase. This was ready to drink out of the bottle. Fruit is starting to fade. Still drinking nicely, but it seems to be at a plateau or possibly fading.

Garnet with a tinge of brick. Initially lots of savory herbs and mushrooms on the nose, more dark fruit as it breathed. This was elegant, mature - but not old, with subtle strawberry, red raspberry, orange rind, and savory notes that are just beautifully done. Ken Wright's Pinots do age well. I did not get any of the heat others have recently mentioned. Went well with Salmon. These are excellent young but also are interesting to keep and drink over time.

Light ruby with watery edges. A delicate nose of red berries, menthol, and herbs. As to be expected given the difficult vintage, this is leaner than in other years, with notes of tart red fruits and herbs, but it shows what a winemaker can do when he knows what he's doing. Enjoyable.

Tasted blind. Twizzler, candied, carob, loamy, cran-raspberry nose. Sweet-tart palate with fuzzy tannin and pleasing acidity. Seems unevolved and simple. Certainly new world, seems Cali-ish, thought maybe a juicy young Grenache blend. Pleasant enough, but seeing the label made me think much less of this wine as Pinot never really crossed my mind. Not my kind of Pinot at all.

This needed a couple of hours in the decanter to really blossom. To the fuller side of medium bodied, expressive, and concentrated with a profile of juicy, vivid, pure, penetrating, and lip smacking dark red cherries and wild berries that are accentuated by oak, spice, soil, and pine notes. Fine grained tannins protrude on the persistent finish. 92 points, but seems to possess the stuffing/raw material for further development and improvement.

This West Coast Pinot is not your grandmother's Burgundy. Lush fruit remains lithe on the palate. Loads of berries here that seem melt on the tongue. Fruit forward for sure, but still delicate enough as to not overpower. Well balanced. Drinking well now. Very tasty.

PnP. Very light red. Subtle nose of sweet red fruits. This is still in pieces; sweet red fruit on the initial palate and then bracing acidity and drying out at the back-end. Tastes manipulated like the wine was over-acidified - either a bad bottle or this is falling apart - very disappointing. Will cork this til tomorrow.

This wine started out barely drinkable. After being decanted for an hour it had improved to being decent but not much above that. We had friends over so drank another bottle after tasting this. After another hour in the decanter we moved back to the KW and all the red fruit and spice emerged turning this into a really good tasting bottle. Some of our group wanted to score this at 90-91.

Good tipicity and quality. Possibly still too young, it seemed to improve over the course of the evening. Needs more time and more air. It paired well with a roasted duck breast in orange sauce. Good QPR.

Had with Japanese 'tapas'. What a terrific pairing. Darker in color than most pinot noir, mouth of cherry, some blueberry and a lot of Asian spice beneath the surface. Yum

This is a great wine. There seems to be great variability over the last several years. Some good vintages, some less good. This bottle is already developing secondary characteristics. When I opened I thought it was a lot older. It doesn't hit you in the face like most KW pinots. It aged very gracefully. Light on its feet with plenty of acidity. Still has dark fruit tone with some caramel. Excellent.

Great example of the power and balance of the 2012 Oregon vintage. Dark in color with black cherry, vanilla and subtle spice up front. Nice acidity which should age well, but not in a meaningful way. The finish is complex and quite long. Big fan.
