Medium red-violet color. Enticing nose of sweet and sour cherry, bay leaf, vanilla, wood smoke. On arrival, low-medium tannin and balanced acidity. Flavor entirely matches the nose: delicious, deftly balanced if also not bruiser in terms of concentration and extract. Medium finish. Fine match with rice-stuffed oak-fired rotisserie chicken, corn succotash and chilled rhubarb-strawberry-lime compote.

This stuff is still packing some heat. Little hot on entry and on the finish. Raisin notes definitely still present buy I don't think it is as prevalent as it was a year ago. Giving way to a little bit of smokey tobacco like notes helping to round out the sweetness. Still really enjoying this and it's only going to get better and more complex.

After drinking my 4th bottle I am sorry to say I bought this wine...not working for me. Can't say I did not give it a chance.

This was tasting quite good. I did a double decant ... quite a bit of sediment. Dark and broodish in the glass, it was ready to stain the teeth! Dark fruit (plums, blackberries, black cherries, etc.) on the nose and palate, with a nice amount of tannins ... not too dry. Very enjoyable.

Something seemed "off" with this bottle. Possibly corked?

This was another one of those finds during an Internet blow-out sale that just frustrated me. it's frustrating because I only bought one bottle and now it's gone. this was a really tasty treat for only $16. It was incredibly easy to drink now, but it also had a couple of good years left in, if not more.

Chewy, tannic. Pretty faint blueberries. Wait on the remaining bottles a couple of years.

Fruit forward, hints of cherry and chocolate and leather, opened up after decanting. Paired well with steak.

Pop and pour, consumed over 4 hours. Nose: Medium-plus expressiveness, fresh baked blueberry pie, lilac bush, and spearmint - very nice. Palate: Medium-full bodied, ripe blueberry, raspberry, and plum attack, enough mid-palate acid to balance the sweet up-front fruit, great mid-palate flavor persistence builds in intensity thru the back-end with the spearmint making a re-appearance and dominating a medium-plus length finish. This is drinking extraordinarily well right now, hard to believe I picked this up for $25 per - still have one left.

I'm not even going to rate this..flat and lifeless. Cherry no acid just plain and one note, not even sure it will make a good sauce, no apparent flaws.

Decanted 6 hours and served with medium-rare rib roast. Truly a perfect pairing, the wine backed up the roast beautifully. Didn't get in the way, but was deliciously smooth with enough acidity to refresh.

Popped and poured a taste. Nose was completely overpowering and taste was completely wound up fruit, smoke, and leather. I almost thought this bottle was corked at first (without the spoiled milk smell). After coming back to the glass about an hour later, the wine began developing. An hour later and the tastes were ripened black fruits, boysenberry,a touch of smoke and a really nice finish. 90-91

Glad I held on to a couple of bottles; the cellar time has been very good to this wine. Same tart cherry, but softer, yet retaining the flourish into the finish. As before, very food friendly but was better on its own than previous bottles.

Popped and poured, consumed over 4 hours. Nose: Medium expressiveness, dark flowers, black raspberry, and saddle leather. Palate: Sweet plum and raspberry attack, spicy mid-palate lift, builds in intensity thru the back-end, everything is in balance and nicely integrated from from front to back. Finish: 30+ seconds of spicy dark red and black fruit. An excellent example of a well balanced Napa cabernet, great value also.

88-89-90 on Days 1-3. Had different experience from poster who saw no benefit from aeration. Little subtlety as PnP, much more interesting and a good QPR by Day 2.

Popped and poured. Dark crimson color. Nose of raspberry and black cherry with some slightly candied red fruit and jam coming through. More of the same on the palate with raspberry jam and a bit of peppery spice. Medium+ acidity with low tannins, this wine is still quite alive due to the acid and still has a ton of fruit left which really surprised me. A bit thin on the palate and finish though. I would drink up if holding any as I do not see this getting any better but still a enjoyable wine for sure.

Opened one hour in advance. Composite cork. Rich aroma of black fruit and mild spice. Sweet cherry fruit flavor, mild heat in the finish. New World style, reasonably balanced, some backbone, pleasant flavors, very quaffable.

Not my favorite style, but good for what it is and very reasonably priced.
