While good there is nothing special about this. I have come to realize that I like my KB pinot with a bit more age on it. This needs to sit a while longer to mature. Anyone else agree that KB pinots should be drunk 6-8 years from vintage date?

Another excellent bottle of this. No formal notes, but this was deep and rich while still maintaining some nice pinot character (unlike say Belle Gros). Lots of black cherry fruit. In a good place and ready to drink, but no rush.

Same great showing as my previous tasting. Paired extremely well with New Caledonia vanilla lobster.

Excellent. The oak has integrated, leaving flavors of honeyed pears, with candied citrus tones. The finish is loaded with a rich honey flavor.

so integrated with a perfect fruit profile and perfume/floral subtleness...really amazing how light and fruit forward this is...could age a bit longer. give 30 - 1 hour of air time before drining.

What a wonderfully great bottle of wine! Caught it at it's peak. Everything that is sometimes special about Kosta Browne. Plums, cinnamon, spice and dried fruit in a big body and bouquet carrying into a long, complex finish that constantly changes it's focus. Wish I had more, as this was so special!

Past its prime, and fading. Deep cherry, some lingering heat, a bit syrupy.

Classic Kosta Browne Flavors - big cherry, cola and clove spice flavors. Not heavy or plodding - this is my wife's favorite.

Quite primary but absolutely gorgeous. Pure cherry with a dusting of baking spice. Mouthfeel is just loaded with glycerin and silky tannin. Wowed everyone. Somewhat Syrah-esque but a fabulous example of the KB style.

Gorgeous- lots of fruit, but well balanced with cinnamon, clove, and some nice minerality. Fruit builds as the wine opens up. Finish isn't too long or complex, but it is well balanced and pleasant.

Wow, drinking well, needs time in a great glass, like a Zalto. Bright color, tasting pinot natural, strawberry, good finish, still has time and that s what a great btl of wine needs.

Tasted non blind.

Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of birch, Kirsch, flowers and berries. Flavors of boysenberries, plums and cherries. Tangy acidity, medium tannin, full bodied. Drink with air or hold.

Garnet. Distinctive Kosta Brown nose. Cherry vanilla, good balance and seems to be evolving into its fully mature stage but still a little awkward at this point. Very nice wine. Had with grilled pork tenderloin. From a split.

Pure...that's what came to mind while I drank this. Mid-weight, medium finish. Very well made. Bit of glycerin texture and hints of faint honey and apricot, very faint butterscotch in the finish. Didn't notice any oak or tannins. At one point as the temperature must've hit "perfect", I wished I had an eye dropper to drink with as it compelled me to sip very small amounts and just savor and contemplate it's goodness. One of the best Chard's I've ever had.

More developed than a year ago. Strawberry nose and palate now dominate, with spice (nutmeg and clove) more pronounced. The finish is sweeter and longer than previous bottle. This is a great wine!

Opened with dinner at Jackie's in Silver Spring, MD. Wonderful expressive nose, the table next to us perked up when it was opened. My wife noted that it was just too easy to drink. blueberry, wild berrys and plums with a touch of spice. Smooth with a nice mouthfeel. Fairly long finish. Wonderful expression of what the RRV is all about when it comes to Pinot Noir.

Always a crowd pleaser... you don't really have to think too much about this wine. Just pop, pour, and enjoy. Always good to have your lady around because this wine will put a smile on her face. Gobs of powerful, extracted red fruit explodes in the glass. A new world fruit bomb, but not overdone. Definitely not Grand Cru Burgundy, however.

Excellent full-bodied Pinot Noir, deep and intense, but still with a lot of freshness. Black cherries on the nose and the mouth. Excellent length.

Very nicely balanced wine at this stage of it's life. Acidity and fruit just about perfectly matched. A smoothness in balance and yet it feels dense at the same time, like I was drinking something at a higher SpG. Nice finish that lasted over 20 seconds. Fruit had a touch sweetness which let me know it was still hanging around, yet the additional age has brought out a structure. This was pleasant to enjoy on it's own. I know their RRV always seem to trail behind their Sonoma offerings but I have to wonder if the RRV's need a good 6-10 years to develop, as I suspect they may have more tannins and skin that requires time to chemically combine. And the wine deepened in flavor over the time we enjoyed it. CT says I'm a year over but this is not at all over the hill. My lone solder in the cellar may have to be tried in another 2-3 and I have confidence it will be ready to muster. Recommended.

This had a reductive almost oxidized quality. Very ripe but tasted like it had been opened too long. Not really very pleasant to drink. One dimensional. Had never experienced this with KB before. I would drink these if I had them. They are not going to improve and will probably get worse.

COLOR: Really translucent Ruby-Garnet, brilliant and deep
NOTE: This is all ripe fruit-driven pleasure and I love it. Nose is mountain strawberries (the tiny ones), pomegranate, black raspberry and even black mulberry. Only the faintest trace of sandalwood. Mouth is a delightfully dense, sweet melange of the same fruits, as is the finish. The finish picks up this burnt marshmallow bitterness that is very appealing. Great PN and drinks well on its own.
