A forty minute drive from our hotel through the winding roads of The Lake District found us in a tiny farmhouse with one of the UK’s top chefs – Simon Rogan – in situ at L’Enclume. Yippeee!!! Good, far from the hype.

Another great bottle ! Still lime green with gold touches. Nose lifted with scents of lemons, limes, white peach and pear. Touches of honey and hazelnut. Palate full with complex fruit and real drive and grip that define great Chardonnay from a privileged site. Great wine.

Very pale yellow almost has a greenish hue. Overwhelming grapefruit nose. On palate, grapefruit and comes with the same bitter taste, mineral but lack balance/finesse.

Kelvin's Baby Shower (Burlamacco, Amoy Street, Singapore): Pretty good, but this was an in-your-face wine – not quite my style. It had a huge, rich nose, with thick aromas of beeswax, honey and peaches wafting out of glass along with a little chalky, flinty undercurrant of minerality. With time, some sweet cream notes floated out as well. The was matched by a thick, layered, waxy mouthfeel on the palate, with big fat flavours of sweet stone fruit lined with spice and toasty, popcorny oak notes. There was a whiff of alcohol warmth in here somewhere as the wine then powered its way into a rich finish with yellow fruit, butter and nuts. There was some acidity that brought a decent balance to the wine, but any brightness or lift was otherwise quite buried by all that fruit. Oodles of oak aside, if you like the big, fruit-forward style, this is actually a pretty good wine and drinking well now. Not my thing though.

Drank a small pour at a tasting. This was better than the 2013 I had a few weeks ago, but not by much. There was more complexity along with the dry fruit, citrus and minerality. There was a lot of petrol here, which only intensified with time.

Pale greenish color. Drank 1 glass over 30 minutes. Heavy fusil on the nose and palate, the nose continues with lime and grapefruit. The palate is fairly fruity, mineral, lemon, citrus oil, oily texture. This was pretty good overall, borders on being a bit over the top with fusil.

Citrus and stone fruit with some floral notes. Crisp acidity, perhaps a touch too much oak, but otherwise well-balanced. Great long finish.

Beautiful minerals and smoke in the bouquet beside the mainly white fruits. Same on the palate. Some melon as well. Good acidity. Full bodied and some oak bitters in the finish. Excellent wine though.

Nose of zesty lime, pear, white flowers, and spice. Intense, focused, and penetrating, with flavors of citrus fruit and chamomile. A mineral finish lingers for a minute. This reminds me of a premiere cru François Raveneau. Drink now through 2020, at least.

I taste the lemon, hazelnut, flint, limestone and acidity of Burgundy but it is a touch plumper and more tropical. After an hour or two of air there is a little butterscotch and cinnamon. Similar to some of the best Chardonnay from the California Central Coast....but better in my opinion. Vintage after vintage and bottle after bottle my favorite new world Chardonnay. Excellent and a great match this evening for maple-glazed grilled pork chops.

Buttery, smooth with hints of vanilla and orangepeel; very elegant style with plenty of minerals and citrus - a lovely wine, burgundy-lookalike - and it will keep (- from HSA, #celebratingblindtastingchampionship)

Glowing greeny gold in the glass. Rich, complex, powerful, looooong. I am no good with chardy flavour descriptors, so will leave those to others. But I know what I like. This. Needs a decant to be fully enjoyed now, years ahead of it. Really only hitting its stride after the bottle has been open five hours. 94 or 95. Sadly, the last of my 3 bottles.

quite a fine and elegant nose - very Burg. Just a bit more broad shouldered than its old world equivalent. Little oak to talk about here which is good. Nice wine.

I enjoyed this. Not super serious, but a nice summery wine. It had a lovely nose, very floral, with perfumy scents of flower petals littered over some sweet white peach and apple, limes and a little slatey minerality. The palate was fresh and lively, with a fresh balance to its ripe flavour sof sweet peach tea, with citrussy limes and a backdrop of slate. There was a nice body and balance to this. Simple, but enjoyable.

Incredibly dry. Some light pear and melon, but nothing to get excited about. Qualitatively this does not compare to the art series chardonnay.

an amazing wine. tastes very much like a Frenchie. Diesel, tons of crisp, acidic white fruit, flinty elements with enough fruit and finish to remind me of a grand cru. quite amazing for the price.

'Nothing but Chardonnay' dinner with Peter Rosback: Under screwcap. Decanted 5-6 hours before tasting. Beating the 2001 Giaconda for my Australian WoTN. A big, powerful, sweetish nose of white peaches, apricots, grapefruits, musk and nutmeg, with a generous slug of vanillin oak. On palate, this is a deeply concentrated, big boned wine. It has Grand Cru Burgundy fruit weight and all of the tasters were picking it as Old World. It has the scale but with sufficient refinement, subtlety and detail of flavours, to retain your interest. Lactic and lower acid with a flavour profile matching the bouquet. Still fairly primary, this wine should still be improving over the next 5-10 years. 1=/3.

Quite high acidity. Citrus, pineapple, with light background floral. Consumed without food which is not the best path for this wine. Less prominent wood than prior bottle.

Consistent notes. Brilliant golden colour. On the nose, brioche, flowers, apple, quince, smoke, spice, cardamom. On the palate, multi-layered, with brilliant depth and oh so smoky. Several thought this was a great Meursault. This should drink well for 7 to 8 years
