On the palate, all the red fruits you expect from Grenache, with some of that bacon fat from the Syrah starting to show up. This is in the beginning of its drinking window, and I would drink it sooner rather than later out of fear of smoke taint showing up. |

2/18/2024 - VlgJeff Likes this wine: 94 pointsDecanted (with some sediment) for about 10 minutes which allowed the wine to open, but a slightly longer decant would have been better. The color was a medium plus violet to a lighter rim. A really enjoyable darker fruited wine with lots of spice. The medium to plus bodied palate showed black cherry, blackberry, plum, with touches of raspberry, red cherry, earth and herbs. The acidity was zesty and up to the job of balancing the fruit while there were some very light tannins on the finish. Will probably hold for some time but highly enjoyable now. |
