Super clean, without any chicken shack or reduction. Violets, granite, nutmeg, cardamom and pure Gamay fruit. Transparent taste with a nice balance of juice, lively acidity, light yet somewhat grippy tannins, and a refreshingly mineral finish without any sensations of alcohol (12%). Not that long, but lots of pleasure nonetheless. More harmonious and less edgy than the '13 was at the same stage. Probably best in a few years - it has the acidity to keep.

very closed upon opening, but this developed fast in the glass, within 30 minutes this opened to a full and soft red fruited wine. No acid to speak of so this would be a "drink me now" wine given some time to open initially. Fun and fruity.

Really nice. Lots of bright, sappy cherry and red berried fruit here tinged with earth and floral notes, all conveyed with a sense of finesse and polish on a medium weight frame. It's a much bigger wine than the standard Lapierre Morgon, but while there's more density and depth here, it has the same freshness and liveliness to the flavours that I always expect from Lapierre.

Very complex wine! Thank you to the wife for the gift! Goes very well with our first meal with the new smoker. Smells and tastes of Cab, Pinot, Merlot, and Zin all rolled into one very nice wine. If you need an above average everyday wine this is your winner!

Light red. Prototypically light, spicy, tart cherry, and a bit of herb. Zingy and bright, just as it should be.

Classic Lapierre - jubey red berries, herbs and some granite-infused minerality. Not terribly concentrated - it's magenta in the glass - just really drinkable. Pure and clean.

Really nice acid on this. Came across as darker and meatier than expected, especially after a few hours of air. The palate was also not as expressive as I'd hoped - a little shut down? Was missing the lacy delicacy I usually love in this wine, but still enjoyed it.

Similar to my prior tastings, as well as community reviews. One change......I had made a comment about a year and a quarter ago that this wine was more suited as a food wine, and not a sipping wine. I found this bottle different. It served both roles very well.

Pure and juicy, bright and bouncy. Far from a profound expression of Gamay, but a very fun-filled bottle. Tonight it helped wash down a "picnic" of seared duck breast and assorted D'Artagnan sausages. It will be interesting to compare this with an S version of the wine.

Youthful nose with medium intense aromas of young red fruit, intensely primary, almost in a Beaujolais Noveau kind of way. A light spiciness as well as some yeastyness. A bit simple, but fun.

Much more impressed by the palate. Medium+ acidity, nicely balanced fruityness, very juicy, round (no tannins) and quaff-able. Light bodied. Medium intensity and a medium+ finish.

Nose 85P, Palate 92P.

Will keep my second bottle for a year just to see if there is any complexity to gain on the nose. This will drinks very well right now though.

Better this time around. Fruit, cranberries, acidity, thin. Improves a bit with air. Puts on weight. Not something remarkable going on here.... Will try again in 6 months. So far not that impressed.

Not the best vintage from Lapierre, a bit disappointing compared to other years. That being said, the conditions in which it was stored may have had to do with it. It felt as though it had suffered a heat stroke.

Clear, pale intensity, ruby color.

Very primary, youthful nose with a medium aroma intensity. Truckloads of fresh red berries, some yeast, fresh herbs and a hint of stable.

The wine is dry with a medium(+) acidity, light body and low tannins. The flavor intensity is medium with primary flavors of red berries, wet stones, spice and fresh herbs. The finish is medium.

Looking at my TN this wine seems pretty simple and one-dimensional, and yeah, that's exactly what it is. But this is so juicy and refreshing! It just makes me smile. No that far from a Beaujolais Nouveau but with less artificial aromas. The perfect wine to drink in a hot summer day.

- Ruby color with medium forming legs. It's somewhat balanced with a light/medium body. Linear texture with a medium finish - Attractive fresh red fruit on nose that is pure and clean underlined with spice and hint of alcohol (OCC from UK arrived 2weeks ago, bottle shocking?). Red fruits on palate with spice and mineral. Medium plus finish. Tannic still strong and the wine appeared not quite integrate. All in all it is an enjoyable Morgon. Will try the 2nd bottle few months later. 90 at the moment.

Served with grilled chicken at cool temperature. Bright cherry, minerality (wet stone), dirt on nose. On palate, bright cherry, black cherry with medium body, high acidity & medium+ finish. Food friendly or fine on its' own. 91-92 range (very easy to drink). Rebuy.

Darker garnet colour - maybe showing some bottle age. This is a lot better than a couple years ago. The angles have been smoothed out and there's no more astringency. Red fruits and some earthiness. Medium weight.

It's been a couple of years since I've had one of these. It's an "N" bottle, so no sulfur. It has an overlay of brett (despite being perfectly stored). Not really a fan of this in Bojo. Beyond that, I'd say the wine is in a sedate, rather than dumb phase. It's lost all its youthful energy and crunchy brashness but not replaced it yet with much savory gravitas. It's o.k. Just not particularly memorable at the moment. I will keep my remaining bottles a while longer.
