Really coming into a great spot. All Marimar's wines benefit from cellaring.

Coravin Sample on 7/26/15: Earthy and fruity nose. Medium body, fruit dominant (blackberry, cherry), light acid, very strong tannins. Short finish that is very bitter. Give this some time.

Not burgundian... This is a highly fruity PN with lots of plum, rubarb, overripe strawberries. Some vanilla fudge and a slight meatiness. Medium- acidity and medium- tannins. Enjoyable but not memorable.

This has really improved since the last time I had it. Color is bricking red, and it has a great nose of cherry and flowers. Light bodied, but good grip. On the palate it has cherries, black raspberries, and a little strawberry leading to sweet and savory spices and a smooth, balanced finish. The extra time in the bottle has really smoothed this out and it is drinking great today.

Smells of floral notes and baking spices. Fresh strawberries and cherries with fairly high acidity. Not extracted or ripe fruit flavors though.

No details notes but memory of it being a bigger style but not over powering. Good fruits, acidity, tannin with slight hot finish. Got lots of life left

We really enjoyed this wine even tho' maybe a little of the fruit had dissipated since it was 8 years old. Yes the flavor was a little muted, but there was no 'brown brick' in the color, but the balance was nice and it went very well with the leftover shrimp fajitas. It's held up nicely, nicely, thank you.

Three years since I last had this wine. It's holding up surprisingly well. The color is fading a bit to a ruby/garnet mix, and the fruit is also fading a bit. Raspberry, cherry, bramble, clove, smoke, menthol, licorice, earth on the nose and palate. Great acidity, texture and some nice, smooth tannins. The finish of cherry and spice lingers a long time. A well-made wine.

Very easy drinking. Little decanting necessary. Cellaring certainly helped with smoothing the luscious dark fruit.

Intense bouquet with dark berries, smoke and oak. A-typical Pinot Noir for an old world (Burgundy) drinker. On the palate a lot of very ripe dark forest fruits, smoke and toast. Very full bodied and sweet, but also good minerality. Good acidity and supple tannin. Definitely a very good wine, but also very new world style. Ready now and the next few years.

From the moment we opened this bottle, we noted aromas of black cherry and red currant alongside secondary notes of spice, earth and strawberry. A big, medium to full bodied Pinot with intense flavours of cherry and spice, without being overpowering. Very smooth, balanced and wonderfully complex amidst so many different descriptors! It’s showing no signs of breaking down and drinking beautifully now…so why wait? www.advinetures.ca

A relatively straight forward albeit well made and elegant new world pinot noir, with all the hallmarks of the sweet ripe core, open and aromatic nose and very forward. A nice wine but does not go beyond that. A good 88, drink now.

This is really my favourite pinot noir. Too bad it is so hard to find outside the winery. Even there it sells out fast. Even at 10 years it has a lot of power left in it, with tannins, earth, cedar, leather and hay, stewed strawberries, lingering finish.

Tropical fruit dominated nose with pineapple, mango, pasion fruit alongside mellon and vanilla. Medium to full-bodied with sucrocity, noticeable heat but good balance overall. Long aftertaste. At peak. A better bottle than the one I had last year.

became much more complicated with time...black cherry, berryfruit, vanilla and an ongoing afterburn-
filigree - withdrawn nose but more impressive on the palate though, changes perpetually.
fine!
drinks well, no noticeable alcohol.

Dark crimson with lighter rim; very deep in color - one cannot see the bare hand beyond the glass; quite vibrant and healthy still.

On the nose: Burnt rubber, black cherry jam, earthy notes of wet mud covered with autumn leaves, animalistic, pepper-steak-breath & not too complex.

Approchable, ripe & pleasing the palate; a gamey & chewy sensation; neither light of foot nor dancing on the tongue; drink now, the wine will not improve I guess; light backbone, lacking structure & complexity; rather short finish - drink up!

This wine still has fruit. Drank over two days. Very food friendly, even on day two. I stand by my previous tasting note, although it does fade quickly.

a freaky wine - just what I expected although I'm not that much into pinot...

rhubarb and strong sauerkraut nose, red plum, red berries, dirty sandy wild strawberries, a weird kind of earthyness combined with smoke -
all covered in a tobacco leaf and furnished with a morbid morguelike sweetish scent that reminds me of an anatomical pathology..

creepy wine
I preferred their Mas Cavalls PN (less complex) but as I mentioned above: not my grape varietal..but I am pushing myself!

didn't take much time in the decanter to open up..

bright fruity blackberry kind of fruit, sweetish raspberries along with a slightly sauerkraut and rhubarb nose, medium in any way, nice ripe cherry finish

nice elegant drop
not too complicated for a pinot...
