Quite lovely. I'm still not too excited about the new range of RP reps. I think Monica Lerner rated this 94. In RPs old days it's probably an 88. Complex and long with sweet black cherry and leather flavors. I poured maybe a glass into a 1/4 bottle left of a 2014 Franc-Mayne, creating a 2014/2017 Merlot dominated super tuscan. THAT was fab.

Djupt röd. Medel+ tanniner. Viss stallighet. Mörka bär och blodapelsin. Relativt dämpad frukt, men mycket bra totalt sett.

Another excellent vintage! Bright ruby color. Aromas and flavors of crushed stone, ripe black cherry/currant, blackberry, plum, exotic spices, red and purple flowers, forest floor and balsamic vinegar. Long and savory finish. Ripe and tight tannins and well balanced acidity. So complex. Consistently excellent.

Not the strongest nose - but still a great wine - our first 2008 - the fruit is a lot of cherries and cranberries - also hints of orange peels. We are getting a lot of leather, menthol and some licorice. A very nice long aftertaste - medium+ tannins and medium acidity - but both are well integrated. This is a well made wine - the wine is drinking well but still some years to come - we will start with 94. (0 views)

Overall a good brunello, nice colour, well balanced tannins present but pleasant, not too long a persistence. Pity about the reduced nose, with notes of cabbage and wet carpet. With a bit of air some hints of red fruits emerge.

First of 3 ($49.99) from online wine clearinghouse #1. On the nose and palate, vibrant notes of black and red cherries, black currants, black plums, earthy minerality, cedar, creamy nuttiness, ground spice, baking spice, crushed rocks, dark florals and lighter citrus, coconut and feral notes. Medium ruby, full bodied, thick legs. Powerful tannins and acidity, balancing and mostly integrating after about an hour, no heat. Excellent complexity, intensity and persistence. With my love of IGTs and Napa really coming to the fore in the past year, this reminds me to say, not so fast. This was expectedly fractious out of the bottle—I mean, this was a bit of an experiment since I have 3 bottles, but I’ve just begun drinking my ‘13s in the past 6-12 months—but found a really nice balance in an hour or so, skewing modern but with very classic Tuscan terroir notes, with notable length and depth, and it held consistently through the end of the bottle on night 3 (I had a glass and a half on night one, then abstained on night #2 as I went to Slow Wine). This is at the very start of its drinking window, with a better than decent chance for incremental improvement and an almost certainty for at least holding this level for an absolute minimum of 5 years, likely double that. This was an insanely good match with red sauce spicy chicken pasta, and I have no doubt it would be equally outstanding with meat, game and heartier poultry dishes, but it also went down very easily on its own. Wonderful stuff, and quite insane qpr at my purchase price. Wildly recommended.

Clear medium light red. Earthy, herbal black cherry fruit with a bit of campfire. Dry earthy cherry flavours and a dry slightly hot mid weight finish.

On the dry and elegant side. Should put on a bit of weight.

This was good day one but exceptional day two. Silky mouth feel, flavors of cherry, earth, tobacco and black tea. Yummy. On day three it was lush and rich and welcoming. Remarkable, really.

Very big and structured wine, alcoholic kick, deep red cherry fruits, plums, wild floral notes and touch of funk. The size of it is just not for me right now, another 15 years might do the trick.

In a very nice place already, maybe still 1-2 years young but opened nicely. Great acidity, fine tannin, flavors started fresh and got deeper. Not the most complex Brunello probably due to the vintage, but very enjoyable.

PnP. Deep ruby w/ brick edge in color. Nose of sweet tobacco, newly tanned leather, cherry liqueur & baking spices. On the palate: cherries, sweet tobacco, rose water, cinnamon & clove. Silky smooth tannins are barely perceived on gums. Long finish of rose water, cherries & warm spice.

Open and decanted before drinking - we only gave it 1 1/2 hours in the decanter - would recommend at least three hours. On the nose you are getting both cherries and cranberries - on the palette you are still getting the two mentioned fruits and hints of prunes - we are also getting menthol - we are also getting leather - tannins and acidity are both medium plus - acidity a bit more dominating - but a very well balanced wine with a good long aftertaste. This is our first bottle and we will give a solid 93 - with a clear expectation of more to come.

Sangiovese (Brunello) of vineyards rich in limestone, clay, Pliocene sands, mixed with volcanic stones, located in the village of Castelnuovo dell'Abate, very close to Mount Amiata. It ferments in concrete and has aging of 36 months in barrels of 16-33-54 hl of Allier oak. Ripe red and black fruit, balsamic, spices, undergrowth, dense, silky, creamy, delicious, elegant, long and persistent. Beautiful wine!

A gift bottle and glad it was as it is likely something I wouldn't have purchased on my own. I think mostly Cab Sav with some Sangiovese, so Super Tuscan City - good rights from both - dark fruits with some elevated acidity. Pretty good.

Prior bottle was 13 months ago and this wine continues to both improve and impress. Really pretty black cherry on the nose, along with plum and balanced spices. Between medium and full bodied with black cherry upfront, again showing that very nice mix of rounded, expressive blackfruit contrasted brighter, higher toned qualities. Mid-body adds darker black cherry, additional depth, plum and some brighter blackberry. Mid-body has opened up a bit from my prior bottle, such that it shows excellent balance overall and true elegance through the middle. Tannins , acidity and tart blackfruit notes are very much in keeping with the fruit and support, rather than distract. Finishes with spices and lengthy mineral notes. Overall, the story remains the mid-body, with it combination of black cherry and plum. It now is more expressive while remaining in balance with the structural qualities. This should be able to maintain this level over the next several years and could even improve a bit more over the short term.
