4/17/2024 - ratboi Likes this wine: 92 pointsPurchased a case of 12 bottles when it was first released. Wine was rated the best wine under $25 in an article from 2020 (possibly earlier). First two bottles drank were too young and clearly needed laying down for a couple of more years. Opened a bottle of it this week and it is drinking beautifully. This is a far better bottle of wine now and represents very good value for $25. |

11/4/2023 - isjomia Likes this wine: 91 pointsA 10 year old $15 Pinot. Expectations modest. Easily surpassed. A nice mellow red still with nice cherry hints and decent length. Sensational value. And cellaring has done no harm. |

9/2/2023 - graemeg wrote: NR{screwcap, 14.9%} Moderately developed rich red, with blue-tinged blackberry flavours, some chocolately oak, and a generally rich character. Medium/full weight. Soft friendly powdery tannins and lowish acidity. A slippery sort of glycerol texture – the alcohol helps, no doubt – leads to a medium finish of sweet fruit that doesn’t quite tip over the top. Shockingly good value at the ~$20 or whatever it cost, although I note it seems to have been the last vintage of this premium effort, so perhaps the grapes were really needed elsewhere. Seemed far more Barossa in character than Adelaide Hills. That all said, probably about ready to drink given the soft structure. Most surprisingly of all – this was barely overshadowed by the 2002 Penfolds RWT that followed it! |

12/13/2022 - chatters wrote: NRDouble decanted about 2 hours before consumption. Still a little reductive and closed initially but then savoury blackberry fruit with a smidge of pepper and vanilla underpin. Fleshy on the palate, similar flavour profile - a little almost herbaceous underpin as well - with softly textured tannins. This bottle is a little out of whack. Perhaps in a dumb phase? |

12/11/2021 - Ozsnapper Likes this wine: 95 pointsThought I’d crack one of these, probably getting a bit old I thought. Wow, actually drinking really well. Still a lot of primary fruit on the nose, lovely black currant and some mint. Also some faint developed aromas beginning to show. Palate is beautifully in balance with fruit, tannin and acid all equally contributing. Definitely has many years of enjoyment left in it. Let’s see how it ages I’ve the coming decade. |

9/22/2021 - Hilzi Likes this wine: 90 pointsNice wine! Stood the test of time. It is a little bit watery in the beginning, but shows a nicely balanced fruit, wood notes and well integrated acidity and tannins. Absolute bargain! Nice to drink now! Wouldn’t wait longer, peak drinking now. |

8/25/2021 - crazywineguy Likes this wine: 91 pointsLight salmon colour. Dry, intense, flavour packed rose. Apparently has a component of sauvignon blanc in it (has to be <20% else it has to be declared on the label. Must be his secret technique). Actually makes you smack your lips. Borders on salty which it cannot actually be but it is that magic combination of fruit/acid/skin tannins to have that illusion. Certainly the best 2020/2021 Rose I have tasted so far and awesome pricing. Mike, I have a man crush! |

8/19/2021 - crazywineguy Likes this wine: 91 pointsVery aromatic and varietally pure and correct in the glass. Lifted aromatic nose of gooseberry, nettle and something else. Strongly flavoured palate with good line and length, clean acid finish of moderate length. All in all a pretty impressive Australian SB and the price is a complete steal. I need a case of this for when the in-laws family comes over. |

6/23/2021 - hussmith-tastes Likes this wine: 91 pointsPut this up against 9 other Victorian and Tassie Pinots at our wine club meet and won impressively. Great nose and a lovely smooth but flavorsome taste. Almost savoury and I don’t know if this is a wine term but “lip smacking”. Went back twice to taste it and improved my score each time. At the price, it is ridiculously good value and most of all a lovely wine. |

6/11/2021 - Ozsnapper Likes this wine: 93 pointsYep, drinking damn well right now. Lovely primary fruit of red berries and plum is very much present with just a hint secondary aromas starting to show. Well rounded, the edginess is gone. Not sure how long it will last as tannins are not obvious but the acidity is there so we shall see. |
