The only problem with this wine was drinking it alongside the 2002 Shafer Hillside Select. It was drinking wonderfully with a great nose and palate. It really started to sign after 4+ hours in the decanter.

Consistent with 8/13 note. Really nice in a rich, unctuous style.

This almost seven year old has not lost its charm and elegance. Gold in color and pear is predominat in this Chard with a hint of cut hay and citrus. Round and full bodied, this Chard is a great sipper and complemented our sushi dinner nicely. I love the way Miner does Chards, full bodied but not overly oaky and buttery.

CT says this was my last bottle of the '08. Now I am anxious to try other vintages. If you still have some of this around I'd recommend drinking up within the next 12 months.

Nose of citrus, lemon wax, mango, and touch of minerals, more of the same on the palate, medium body, great choice with Chinese Basil Salmon, slightly passed its prime, still tasty with a hint of butter and nuts, long, fruity finish.

Medium bodied with strawberry and white pepper notes. Good balance. Paired beautifully with grilled wild salmon.

Me no like. It has that green bell pepper taste that I do not like. I was hoping for a Napa style Bordeaux but it wasn't happening. Tasted more like a cool style Argentinian Bordeaux to me. Unfortunately a business associate talked me into splitting a case. Oy Vey. Hopefully the green notes will assimilate given time.

Oracle seldom disappoints. The 2006 is a superb, medium weight, Napa blend. One hour decant - good to go. Consistent structure, nose and taste over five hours. A hint of pepper and mature fruit.

Love Oakville Cabernets, structured, dry, earthy, and lots of spicy red currant, arguably the Heart and Soul of Napa. Serious wine!

One of my favorite Chards. I really love the Wild Yeast from Miner. Full bodied and buttery with a unique pear and vanilla on the palate. The butteriness begs for food to drink with it. We had it with Sushi but I didn't do so well on the pairing. Perhaps if you stay away from the wasabi. ;-)

New world bomb style Bdx blend from CA. Dark fruits galore explode from the glass on nose and palate, along with vanilla and oak spice. This gets better as it's open longer (only tracked this half-bottle for a few hours), with some tar and mushroom coming in, and dark and blue fruit shifting to red. Give the next one a few years; I think it's gonna get better.

Really in a good spot. Should drink really well from now and the next several years. Just slightly turning a corner and softening its tannic structure. Incredible nose, some black pepper, red and blue fruits. Mid-weight, nice finish. 92-93 pts

Nose of citrus, lemon/lime and tangerine, touch of minerals and butter, more of the same on the palate, medium body, great choice with a huge vegetable/grilled salmon salad, my alternative to Napa Valley Chardonnay, lots of complexity, slightly on the down hill side-time to drink up, still tasty, with a medium/long finish.

Nose of citrus, lemon/lime and mango, wet slate, with a hint of butterscotch, more of the same on the palate, medium body, half way between a white Burgundy flavors and a Napa Chardonnay, good complexity, smooth and supple, showing its age, slightly passed its peak, tasty, slight, crisp, medium/long finish.

2008 Miner Family Pinot Noir "777" Rosella's Vineyard

4/30/2015 - hosscrow Likes this wine: 95 points

The best, most balanced, delicious and most expressive Santa Lucia pinot I have tasted. Pommard like in its insistent nose and taste. A hint of cola balanced by cherry fruit and earth notes. I hope that there is some of this to try tomorrow. Beautiful bright brick red pinot color. Ready to drink at 7 years old. Nose develops as the wine opens. Intoxicating, complex nose of light red fruit , a hint of cola and of earth, beautifully integrated. with a knock out taste of light red sweet berry fruit, tart acidity, a hint of oak a fruit. A finish to die for, goes on and on and knits the pieces together so that I yearn for another taste. Balance and the typicity of the SLH make this wine a stand out.

Drank this alongside the '01 vintage. Both wines were great with clear vintage differences. Some of us enjoyed the '02 more before the introduction of food. The '02 had a much more expressive nose, an a more youthful jammy fruit palate and black pepper middle and great weight.

Drank this alongside the '02 vintage. Both wines were great with clear vintage differences. We enjoyed the '01 with food (steaks) better than the '02 due to its more earthy components and dusty light tannic finish. Had nice brambly fruit, pencil lead and cedar flavors.
