Just a really well made pinot noir, red berries on the palate along with some cinnamon and nutmeg with a nice finish. Very enjoyable.

Had not tried a bottle in 4 years and time has mellowed and matured the wine. It is not as syrupy or sweet. Red fruit on the nose, strawberry and cinnamon on the palate and a nice finish. Went well with the mixed grill I served it with.

Wonderful pinot nose. Agree with previous notes; strawberry, nutmeg, raspberry and spice. Wonderful complexity. For $30 it's a wonderful pinot.

Eight months after I last tried it and it did not impress me as much, same great nose, the palate was again plums, raspberry and dark cherry but what was missing was the long finish with spices. Somehow the wine mellowed out and the spices disappeared. Maybe an off bottle. Still a very good wine but I was looking for more.

12/12/2014 rated 94 points: I had forgot that I tasted this wine just a month ago. Nothing Has changed: "appears unfiltered and unfined. Cherry, raspberry, roasted nuts, some cinnamon, spice and toasted oak. Rich, full-bodied and intense fruit, with a hint of sweetness in the mouth. Tannins are fairly well resolved and integrated into the wine. Nice structure and an excellent balance. A long extended and spicy finish."

Absolutely enjoyable, we pnp'd. red fruit on the nose, palate was cherry and spices, mostly cinnamon and nutmeg with a really nice finish.

Whoa! Full disclosure, we drank two bottles of 1er cru white burgundy beforehand so not sure if the remaining drops left in the glass modified this or not (probably not) but Whoa! This really did have some of that Burgundy barrel influenced coffee, mossy, underbrush, black dirt aroma and flavors with intense bright red fruit on the palate. Great acid and definitely can last some years in the cellar. Either slight bottle variation, or a lesson in letting your bottles rest after shipping or I was just wanting so much to drink a grand cru burgundy tonight that I tasted what I imagined :)

Cracked open a second bottle, drank a third and then corked it up till day two. On day two, the wine became incredibly fruity. Reminded me of a Patz and Hall. Ultra bright and ripe round cranberry flavors. Silky. The initial oak toast from a day ago completely blew off. Very enjoyable, totally fruit forward new world pinot but balanced within the world of new world pinot. Grand Cru though..? I don't think so. I'm sure the vineyard management is meticulous and immaculate as so many admirers speak of but it takes more than that to be Grand Cru. Again, enjoyable but we still have a ways to go.

A bit of a shock to the palate after drinking mostly Burgundy lately. For a Pisoni/central coast pinot this was as balanced as one could hope for. Deep ruby color. The nose was unmistakably Cali with rich dark blackberry fruit and that quasi astringent orange peel nose. Some nice floral aromatics from the wood. The flavor profile was dark fruit and somewhat savory/salty and balanced, even minerally, with no heat. Enjoyable but not showing that nuance, at least not yet, that makes pinot so wonderful.

wineismylife's TN nails it, and is just as good 1.5 yrs later. This was fresh, fruity, and vibrant off the pop last night, with some fine tannins to shed. Absolutely delicious black cherry and secondary dark fruits with that earthy/mushroomy base that I've found in Pisonis from several producers.

Tonight the flavors have softened considerably, with the theme being raspberry sauce, forest floor, more mushroom, and straight up dirt. So, yah, I think "drink now with a short decant or hold" is still solid advice. Just depends on which phase of maturity you want to catch this in.

Full bodied with a great backbone of tannins and acidity. Quite a dark Pinot with earthy tobacco, expansive on the palate, offering sweet red and dark berry flavors (black raspberry) and smoky spices

Really held together well over two days. Drinking at its peak but can probably go 1 more year before starting to have the fruit die down - clearly that is not how this wine was intended so best to drink up.

Deep ruby, fresh and focused, this wine flaunts aromas and flavors of red cherry fruit, coriander, cola and cardamom. Medium-bodied and with medium-weight, fine-grained tannins, it is very easy to drink. The wine's alcohol (listed as 14.5%) is nicely woven and the middle palate sustains the flavors well. Finishing with substantial length and a note of spice, this is definitely an upper echelon Pinot. Enjoy it over the next 5-6 years. Drink now-2020.

Garnet color in the glass, fairly clear looking. Nose of barnyard, beries and cherries. Flavors of berries, cherries and a hint of raspberries. Medium acidity, medium tannin, medium to full bodied. Drink over the short term.

I learned from the last time we drank this a few months ago and we opened it, poured some and let it stand for over an hour and then drank it slowly, dark cherries and strawberry on the nose and palate with a hints of cinnamon and clove. A nice long finish

The color is light garnet with some brick at the edge. This wine is hazy and cloudy too (no fining? no filtration? age?)! The smells are earthy, bretty, dark cherry, currant, and strawberry. The tastes are spicy notes, cherry, cedar, olive, clove, red fruits, and dark spices. The finish is lengthy and tannins are like thin sheets of satin. Not bad for a pinot this age. DO NOT open this with a corkscrew! First two bottles, cork crumbled... use an Ah So for best results!
