Golden color. Vanilla on the nose. Pineapple, pear and citrus in the tongue. Finished off the the last of it with cold pizza at midnight. Delicious.

De couleur bourgogne clair. Beau nez sur les fruits rouges, poivre et café. En bouche on retrouve une bonne acidité et la présence de tannin fin avec un vin tout en fruit avec un peu d'arome de prune. Long en bouche, ce vin a du corps tout en ayant un certain raffinement. Bons accords avec tortellini sauce tomate et légume.

Opened from a magnum. The wine was in an excellent condition. The nose was very floral with stems, menthol, red fruits, and herbs. The palate had layers with some secondary sweetness, yet it was elegant. It had no signs of coming from a weak vintage. The fact that it was a magnum probably has helped a lot. I would imagine a regular bottle is now over the peak. The wine stayed at the peak for a good 2 hours in the glass. This wine was a pleasant surprise for everyone tonight.

Pours a pale violet tinged ruby. Thin legs. Nose of fresh redcurrants and just-picked strawberries, along with an inspecific wet earth note. Medium acidity, a hint of sweetness, and medium unripe tannins. Palate confirms with a slight bitterness the nature of this wine's tannins. Little depth or intensity of flavour. Good Beaujolais typicity and decent quaffing but unbalanced and sorely lacking. Drink now until 2017 at the latest.

Light red, brick edge, mostly clear. Nose with ripe strawberries, cherries, animal notes, some decaying strawberries and other notes typical of a mature Burgundy, some spice and oak notes. Medium- body, some strawberries, good acidity, minerality, some spice, not much tannins left, and a balanced aftertaste. Fully developed but still sticking together, 87 p.
This bottle is considerably better than the one tasted in 2011, and behaves more as expected of a village Burgundy at 20.

Light red with orange/brick edge, not quite clear. In the nose red berries (cherries), mild spices, some animal notes, some flowery notes, some malty notes and hints of volatile acidity. Light on the palate, with sour cherries and some raspberries, noticeable acidity, some spice, some bitterness, hardly any tannins. 82-83 p.
Fully drinkable and the aromas developed somewhat with aeration, but thinner and more developed/aged than what I expected from the appellation and the vintage.

This Morgon really delivered. Medium weight, nice for the variety and terrific aroma and mouthfeel. Complexity excellent for the type and interest continues through the clean finish. A pleasant surprise!

Peter's 40th Birthday celebration at Nicolas. Very dark, with brown tones. Old saddle leather, sandalwood, earth, mushrooms and sour cherries. Very intense palate, showing the ripeness and heat of the vintage, but showing excellently (like another bottle I had last year). Beefy and meaty, lots of ripe dark cherries and plums, coffee, chocolate and hazelnuts. Again, I would say this lacked the complexity and finish, but I shouldn't be nitpicking on a lovely example of an aged Burgundy at its peak drinking window.

Pretty fantastic overall. Still fairly medium-red; a little browning, but not much. Aromatics start with a leathery component. That blows off and a certain earthiness/sauvage element emerges. Palate undergoes a similarly interesting transformation -- from somewhat stewed fruit to sweet, ripe (and earthy) fruit. Fascinating. Never ethereal -- this is a fairly big wine -- but really interesting and, again, pretty fantastic.

100% gamay, this is light bodied, no wood, smooth tannins, lots of fruit (cherries and gooseberries) with moderate acidity. a bit mineral as well. typical beaujolais, no surprises.

Nez sur ronce, petits fruits rouges serrés, moka, cuir, vanille. Bouche serrée (cistercienne) sur ronce, cassis, note fumée, milieu de bouche soyeux, très jouissif, finale sur réglisse, fraises, sous-bois. Toutefois légèrement asséchante avec tannins qui auraient été appréciés moins austères, rustiques (cuvée non éraflée ???) - 92-94/100
