6/5/2023 - theplatz wrote: 94 pointsWine was actually a little harsh and tannic upon initial Pop and Pour. But after a short period mellowed into a really nice tasting wine. Great fruit but still good balance and lingering finish. Is improving as I taste throughout the night. I think this wine still has life left (CT showing drinking window through 2020; I updated to 2026 for me, could be longer). Great wine. Still have 4 more bottles. |

6/9/2020 - Francophile Likes this wine: 89 pointsStill smooth but lost some fruit since my last bottle. We both thought a very pleasant drink and another wine that I did not drink at its peak and should have. This is the problem when you move to a State where you cannot take your wine with you and have a large amount to catch up when you move back, (especially as you have had to buy local wine while you were there). |

10/14/2018 - sdwineguru Likes this wine: 90 pointsSimilar impressions. Dark garnet, amber edges; peppery, berry, ripe grape, cranberry nose; mid-body; good fruit; long hot (14.5 alc.) chewy finish. w/BBQ, burgers, pasta. |

9/19/2018 - ex-sommelier wrote: NROn PNP had quite a bit of structure but then that faded fast into a simple, but not inoffensive cab blend. Nose of coffee, cocoa, and dark berry fruit, palate is simple but fresh with little remaining tannin hitting the tip of the tongue. Absolutely nothing wrong about this for the price but not something I would seek out. Drink up |

12/7/2017 - joncohen wrote: 84 pointsinky, opaque purple blue, medium plus viscosity. initial aromas of blackberry, blueberry fruit, some alcohol heat, cedar and a subtle lilac note emerging; on the palate, hits you over the head with v ripe blackberry, kirsch, plum; there's fine tannin and acid, doing their best, but here overwhelmed by the sweet fruit and alcohol. I know some people go for this sort of thing, and to be fair it is a well made exemplar of its kind, but I find it out of balance, bombastic. not my thing. |

11/4/2016 - MBusk Likes this wine: 92 pointsThis is lovely, balanced, and deep, with real Bordeaux character at a bargain price ($13 or so from Garagiste). Cassis and blackberries form the core of fruit, which has terrific mid-palate density, but the graphite, bell pepper and herbal notes from the Cab Franc add savory complexity, with a slight umami/smoky/salty note on the back end, which glides along on a tight but smooth blanket of tannins, through to a medium-long finish. The tannins and acidity suggest this will last at least five more years, although it's drinking so well right now. A great deal at the $13 sale price, although perhaps a bit less so at the normal retail of $19. |
