Much better Zins available at this price point. Brute force but no balance. Indistinct fruit and oak were all that came through. Drinkable but not searching for more.

Drinking beautifully at this point, it's still very fruit forward and is missing some of the musty and fungal characteristics that older Moshin pinot Noir often develop at age. This one is a sweet spot right now and should be drunk before the fruit degrades. Drink in 2015.

Cherry cola without the cherry. Time to drink up. This wine needed time but then died early. A bit disappointing.

Clearly this wine is past its prime. Fruit is sour cherry with an essence of strawberries...yes, crazy, I know. I don't think I've ever used that fruit to describe a Pinot before but I went and grabbed strawberries out of the fridge to test it. So think thin, tart fruit with some herbaceous qualities in the finish, but slight terroir. All of Rick (Moshin)'s pintos from 2009 seem to be tasting along a similar profile but this one was a bit more depleted. All in a bit disappointing.

Strongly acidic; I found the heartburn quite striking, as we paired with Tunisian pork loin and humus and drank alone. For the record, I'd give this wine an 88-89 and my wife would be 91-92, so we're settling at a 90.

There is strong Mishin terroir and some garrique. Fruit has been tamped by time, but some kirsch and currant remains in the early to mid body. Unfortunately, mother wine seems to have a little froth, although it's not viscous and seems acidic in the finish.

Time is not on your side. Drink up in '15!!!

As a pop and pour the wine has some musty funk that needed fifteen minutes to blow off, the fruit is nearly all dark cherry and preserved berries...dark from the mid-palette through finish leaving a faux sticky sweet sensation. I found the wine a bit unctuous, like some glycerin pervading the mouthfeel andnprolongingnthe sense of sweetness. I'm not a fan of the styke of this wine; I know Rick Moshin always wants to experiment with each of fifty-teen vineyards (which made collecting his wine an inventory nightmare and is no small part of why I stopped collecting his stuff) but I don't like the approach he took here. Truly this wine exhibits flavors a Pinot should not exhibit. There are plum sensations one migh expect from Languedoc and some pepper like that of Granacha....sorry but not a fan. Thankfully, as Rick makes so many wines, I have limited inventory of this one.

Good if you like the riper style of pinot, 14.9%. A little hot from the alcohol, better after 30min in the fridge. Red fruits palate, enjoyable aroma, but overall lacking complexity. Their RRV pinots are better. 87

Two hour later, the complexity has improved. Still a ripe style, not yet jammy, but I like the raspberry red fruits on the palate. +2

Lovely ripe cherry nose. The palate is bright and lively with ripe red cherry fruit, just a touch of cola on the mid-palate, and some funk on the finish. Elegant body and relatively light weight.

Was a little nervous about opening a 13 year old RRV pinot, but it aged great. The color was brick red, tannins silky smooth, wonderful secondary aromas of herbs and dried leaves, palate was all RRV cherry and spice. Peaked about two hours after opening. Glad I have one more bottle.

Much darker and more body than your average Pinot, but impeccably clear. This definitely has pear on the nose, and possibly also ripe pineapple. Tastes lower on the palate, slight pepper, tobacco, nice slight dark berries. Delicate, delicious.

I'm not sure when the sonoma coast moved next door to paso Robles but it seems to have happened in about 2011. I like this wine and it is less Syrah like than a previous bottle but it still tastes like some Syrah found its way in the mix.

Not going to rate this. I detected trace TCA, but wife and wife's friend didn't, and said they liked it. They're not *that* nice to me, so this goes unscored, and left in a haze of uncertainty. (This is the second corked Moshin bottle I've had in six months, if so (after batting .1000 for six years, I should also mention).)
