2/18/2024 - Dfortin9 Likes this wine: 94 pointsConcentrated with an everlasting finish. A lot of energy still in the tank of that full bodied offering. Blueberry, blackberry, oak, vanilla and plum. Good acidity and tannins are still holding tight. Impressive. NI:4, FI:23, FC:8, B:4, L:5 |

9/28/2023 - Asull2k Likes this wine: 91 pointsSimilar notes to last bottle. Medium ruby and purple color. Dark cherry, earth, and a little herbal nose that disappeared within an hour after opening. Dark cherry, dust, plum, earth, and tobacco on the palate with about 30-33 sec finish. Nice QPR at the discounted price. |

Tried a small portion without decant on day 3 and was much more tannic and slow to open. Medium ruby and purple color. Dark cherry, soil, and a little graphite on the nose. Dark cherry, plum, a little pepper, licorice, and tobacco on the palate with about 30-33 sec finish. Decent QPR at the discounted price. |

8/25/2023 - JoeMe wrote: 90 pointsBold dark fruit, loads of vanilla on the nose. Cassis, blackberry, cherry are the main fruit flavors on the palate. Even with a long decant, the tannins remain strong. Not much complexity and a moderate finish. Still youthful ten years from vintage. Enjoyable, but you come to expect a little more at this price point. 90-91 |

8/5/2023 - davidandrose Likes this wine: 92 pointsFirst experience w this property, gift from a colleague. Not decanted, ~2 hrs slow ox. Nose is old Bordeaux; damp cellar, aged barrique, earth, mushrooms. Good balance of austere red fruit, fig and tea. Wine shows it's age and is nicely balanced, if a bit more lean than I'd prefer. 82% CS 13% PV, 5% CF, I imagine this is just beyond its peak windows. Nicely done and enjoy! |

5/21/2023 - Swaggering Beaunie Likes this wine: NRYummy! We decanted this for an hour, although it might not have needed it, and served it with grilled steaks, grilled asparagus, and fresh Caesar salad. It showed generous black cherry and chocolate, adorned with oak spice. The tannins and acidity were tamed and well-balanced. Later, after more air, charming orange and orange-peel flavors and aromas emerged. |

5/21/2023 - galewskj wrote: 92 pointsPop and pour. This is a savory and popping cabernet. The fruit is amplified and not jammy. There is a lot of spice and pepper that almost becomes excessive, but never got to that level. This wine was great by itself, albeit slightly large, cabby and tannic, and was totally gangbusters with some grilled new york strips. I am pleased to find a delicious and non-bank-breaking napa cabernet in this day/age. But do consider the pedigree. As good as this is, it is a value play. It is great for the price, not a benchmark for Napa. |

5/3/2023 - kevrob822 Likes this wine: 92 pointsSeriously, this is a big wine, and it still needs some serious airtime before you can enjoy it to it’s fullest. But, damn, this us a great big beast with tons of depth, texture balance, oak, dark fruit. Not a wine for the weak of heart! And a Superb QPR! |

1/29/2023 - martywil Likes this wine: 93 pointsPartner opened this at about 8 p.m., poured a half glass and corked it. Four hours later, I poured a glass. What a gorgeous, concentrated palate, with classic Oakville intensity, licorice, and deep black then red fruit. I think it has quite an upside and won't peak for three or four years. |

Gravel, tobacco, dark currants, damp earth, spices, minerals and bay leaves. Medium to long finish and complex. This should drink well through 2030 but is amazing right now. 94 points |

1/12/2023 - Jay Win Likes this wine: NRIn terms of today's Napa cab pricing, this represents excellent value especially from WTSO. Needs an extended decant today but really needs time in the cellar. Grade of A-. |

12/17/2022 - kevrob822 Likes this wine: 92 pointsI'm waffling on this a bit. As I read the reviews, and I begin to taste the wine, I can see all of the comments from the get-go. I started my note after a quick PnP, as the bottle was just beginning to decant. The bottle improved IMMENSELY since opening. CRAZY tight on opening, nearly no aroma, structure, or taste. Then 90 minutes later, it’s opened up like I’ve NEVER seen a wine do. Seriously! Big, deep, rich… lots of great deep aroma! Full bodied, with lots of black fruit, graphite, leather, oak, and cigar box! A ton of depth & texture! I’ve NEVER had a wine go through such a dramatic change in 2 hours. Amazing!!! But, this wine is not for the faint of heart, but DAMN, this tickles my taste buds like crazy! In full transparency, I’ve NEVER been a fan of soft, supple, mellow wines! I love big, bold, full-flavored & -bodied Napa CS! Actually tempted to raise this to 93 Points, but I have 3 words with every bottle - Decant, Decant, DECANT!!! Is That Clear? 😂 3 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (2) |

12/4/2022 - WineJ2019 Likes this wine: 91 pointsGood solid Napa cab but I wouldn’t give this a rave review. Reasonable QPR for $40 from WTSO. A bit heavy on the oak at this stage, hopefully that settles a bit. |
