Second time in less than a week. This time from my Quebec City cellar (certainly colder than a restaurant cellar). Younger and a bit tighter. Blind, I would have guessed a Premier Grand Cru Classe from St-Emilion in an excellent vintage about 50% Merlot-Cab Franc. Slight floral notes (maybe from the Petit Verdot/Syrah). Serious, but absolutely beautiful. Will continue to age perfectly well for another 5-7 years.

Floral nose, citrus on palate, and along, complex finish...still taste it minutes later. A mature effort.

Very impressed. Deep color, slightly evolved, complex nose. Rich, fresh, perfectly balanced with nice tertiary aromas on the palate. Long finish. Still not at its peak, should get there within 1-2 years. Killed the Stags Leap Artemis tonight!

Big fruity nose, plums with some earthiness, a bit of leather and some spice (I couldn't decide what). Full mouthful of wine, good structure and acidity. Long finish. It went very well with grilled steak. The tannins are still quite powerful and it wants a year or two more in the cellar. Caution: there was lots of sediment in the bottle after being down for three years - decant carefully (I put it through a fine sieve while decanting).

Decanted 90 minutes prior to consumption. Deep, dark red and sticks to the side of the glass. Complex nose of exotic dark fruit, and chocolate. Full in the mouth with long, smooth finish.

Medium to full bodied. Nice flavours of berry fruit - hints of strawberry and red cherry. But I would not have guessed that this was a syrah. Possibly a bit under-ripe: there is a slight hint of greenness that was more apparent the second day. Some hints of spice but oak is not obtrusive. 14.8% alcohol - didn't jump out at me so reasonably well balanced.

Big juicy deep red colour. Smoked meat & game with sweet cherry and tobacco on the nose. Decanted an hour before consuming and was nicely opened up. Solid medium to long finish. High complexity and could use a bit more time to settle down, but not too much more. Will try another in six months.

Clear dark ruby, Nose Black cherry, hint of barnyard and candied orange peel. wow! Palate has med acidity and med tannin will stand up to years in the cellar. Palate is consistent with the nose. Still developing but a beauty now. Open it up and enjoy!

Medium red. Nose of plum, cherries, raspberries and menthol. After some air a slight candied note appears with a whiff of vanilla. Medium body, medium + acidity, medium tannin. The tannins are not sweet which gives the wine an austere feeling. The mid-palate lacks stuffing and the finish is abrupt. Comes across as very cool climate and a little bit harsh.

A very large wine that has something strange happening on the mid palate. Some herbal flavour which conflicts with the rest of the wine. This was masked by the rich cheese with which it was served.

Took a good 45min to open up savory with a dark fruit core nice floral lavander note. on the palate has that bitterness of a Northern Rhone Syrah, and even has that youthful taste it and this needs like 10years

DAY 2, Opened up a bit, softened but still youthful, still reminds me of a nothern rhone, just needs the age to mellow n relax this baby
