Popped and poured. Drank over 1.5 hours.
Appearance is clear, medium ruby going garnet colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of dark red cherries, sweet baking spices, cola, roasted earth/coffee/cocoa. Developed.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ alcohol, medium tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet dark red cherries, ripe strawberries, licorice, cola, mint, baking spice, chocolate, slight roasted earth. Long finish.
Very good quality. Complex. Probably at peak of drinking window. Drink up. A less brawny, relatively elegant expression of the Pisoni Vineyard.

What a delightful wine, I agree with most of the prior comments: balanced, elegant, true to its California heritage, but by no means "over the top". Regardless of the producer, this vineyard always seems to produce a great wine, vintage after vintage. One of the few California "Cru" vineyards.

Very dark ruby for a Pinot-seems to be aging quickly. typical SLH with cola, dark cherry nose. Not earth. On the second day, more of the fruit emerged for a fruit forward, upfront wine with no mid palate and then too much cola and a too tart acid on the finish which was also too astringent with tannin and not PN elegance or silkiness. A genuine disappoint as I am a fan of the producer and the vineyard, but this wine is way out of balance.

Not as light-colored as a lot of Pinots seem to be. Earthy nose, although there seems to be something “sweet” there, also—caramel, molasses. On introduction to the tongue, there is a pleasant (i.e., light) hit of red fruit—cherry or strawberry. Towards the back of the palate I’m getting that earthiness, again. Not really unpleasant. The light touch on the fruit and the neutralizing earthiness, is quite enjoyable. Noticeable tannin and acid.

PnP. Bright, slightly translucent ruby color, lighter side of medium body texture. Very aromatic, and quite tasty with spicy cherry, wild raspberry, juicy strawberry, with an underlying streak of stony minerality and mulchy earth. Nicely complex and great balance. Very long finish. Wonderful accompaniment to a variety of foods over a three day period.

Nose: Incredibly lush strawberries, cherries, smoked meats, sweet tobacco, fresh violets (?)

Palate: strawberries, raspberry, cherry, cola, black pepper (?), baking spices. The strawberry is he strongest flavor on the attack, but the finish is a creamy raspberry preserves.

I found this wine to be decent at the winery and bought this bottle to be polite. Trying it again tonight I have to completely reverse my opinion. This is a top notch Pinot and easily in the top 3-4 I've ever tasted.

I'm giving it one of the very few 94s I've ever given. I feel it's so well put together, so layered, and so delicious that it justifies even the $65 I payed at the winery.

Normally I would like this Pinot but this one didn't live up to their 2012 Thomas Road Pinot so I'm a bit disappointed. I would gladly pay the $20 difference to get some more Thomas Road. They are two vastly different Pinots. The 2011 vs 2012 vintage at account for some of it, but not all of it.

This is from a warmer site than the Hudson, but it behaves like a cold-climate Chardonnay, with crisp, zesty acidity, white currants, quince and floral notes intermixed with citrus oil and lemon butter.

Brief note here - The wine pours a light golden straw color. Quite viscous and nice legs. On the nose, concentrated bouquet of granny smith apples, marzipan, butter and citrus. Decent balance without overdoing the butter. On the palate, the wine is unctuous with a deep mineral core. Unmistakably Californian with flavors of peaches, vanilla and cream desserts. Finish a tad short but acidity is there to keep things alive. Decent.

Some terrific fruit and secondary flavors and sensory flabors at play here, but at this stage, it feels a bit over the top overall. Perhaps, to be fair, this wine needs a couple more years to achieve a more harmonious balance. But what's here is quite intriguing.

Delicious through and through! Hazelnut, almond, and a little caramel assist the pineapple, green pear and apple fruits. Slight amount of butter to the round mid palate but it is assisted by very nice acidity the entire time. Very nice long lingering finish!

Lots of apple and melon aromatics. Similar flavors hit the tongue on introduction. The wine does evolve as it passes back. Some hints of mineral mid-palate. Good citric acid mid- to back-palate. Controlled use of oak—you can detect the complexity that it adds, but this is no “butter-bomb.”
