beautiful bottle. Open 30 minutes before consumption. Very well balanced, has lost the acidity that plagued it three years ago, some remaining fruit, beautiful mid palate, excellent tannins. Drink now with meat to round it up.

Appearance: Bright and clear, it has deep ruby color, with garnet rims and legs.
Nose: Clean, with medium intensity aromas of black fruit such as plum and blackberry, with some cassis, oak notes of cedar and smoke, pungent spice of licorice, dairy notes of cream, maturity notes of tobacco and savory, with a little herbaceous note of green bell pepper. The wine is developing.
Palate: Dry with medium (+) acidity, the wine has medium (+) tannin of ripe and silky texture, showing medium alcohol and medium (+) body, with medium (+) intensity flavors of black fruit such as blackcurrant, blackberry and plum, oak notes of cedar and some vanilla, pungent spice of licorice, animal notes of leather. The wine has a medium (+) finish.
Conclusion: Good quality Margaux with good structure and highlighting the typicity of what a nice Margaux should taste like, on the nose it is showing quite a complex range of aromas, with nice intensity. On the palate it shows similar range of flavors, with good acidity and tannin, but having even a higher concentrated flavors mean it could still be further developed for another 3-5 years easily, but already good to drink now.

Needed about 1h to wake up. Beautiful smell of red fruit, cigar box and forest floor. The smell is reflected in the taste. Very elegant, balanced and with a medium long after taste. Really really good now and no need to wait longer.

From jéroboam. Gorgeous nose, open, scented without much depth but nicely evolved and pretty. Still good texture although there doesn't seem to be lot of tannins left. Fresh, round, gentle and elegant. Good finish. Ready to drink especially in standard format bottles. 89-91

Surprisingly lovely. Cedar, some florals, cassis. Complex and packing subtle punch for a wine that first seems medium bodied. Some tannin but not too austere. Probably at peak.

Initial nose of coffee, stewed plums, and macerated sour cherry. Juicy acidity on the palate with brooding black plum fruit and hints of herbaciousness.

Loads of woody tannins up-front upon opening, but in 30 min this becomes extremely balanced, cigar box, baseball field dirt (slid head first enough to know what that tastes like), dark cherry, and a creamy silky textured finish. This is quite good, but honestly not worth the money. Drinks well now, I'd drink up over the next several years.

Notes of florals, currants and a hint of spice. Red berry and floral notes of the palate. A bit thin through the midpalate and finish. Very pleasant though.

2015 Carnival Breeze Cruise Wines (Somewhere in the Caribbean): Simply beautiful. This wine is drinking at peak right now and I found this to be the best bottle yet. I can't believe how much better this is drinking now than a few years ago, when it was just "good". The nose was utterly captivating. I am happy to have saved a few bottles. Drinking well after a splash decant.

Great material and a nice finish. Felt the wine was less integrated that would expect after 11 years but enjoyed it nevertheless.

Blending the sophisticated aromatics of floral, dark chocolate and fresh boysenberry, this medium-bodied wine is forward and fresh. It delivers a crisp, vigorous cassis finish and is filled with refined charm. The wine was produced from a blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot and reached 13.5% alcohol. 91-92 Pts

Still quite youthful in both color and taste. Primary, with only some hints of leather and earth. Detailed, with fine grained tannins and a great, silky mouth feel. The cassis fruit was deep and mouth coating. The finish trailed off a bit too soon, but this was beautiful overall.

I bought this bottle in 2006, and it was the first bottle that I bought with the intention of storing. At the time, we didn't have a cellar and we've moved a few times since we bought this (so that gives you some idea of provenance, as a consequence, I couldn't suggest this bottle is representative of how this wine is supposed to taste). Nevertheless, this holds great sentimental value.

As others have noted, this is not a baby version of the first wine of Margaux; this doesn't have the amazing floral and spiced notes that I associate with that wine. Nevertheless, our bottle was drinking pretty well. It has left behind most of its fruit, and what is left is character and texture. On the nose there are clove and coffee aromas. My wife adds this reminds her of her grandmother's closet (musty, in a comforting way), sweethearts candy and frankincense/myrrh. There is a bit of VA present. On the palate, the acidity is high-toned and still pretty serious, with dusty dried fruits. There is still some gripping tannin on the finish. We enjoyed this for the trip down memory lane.

Retirement lunch at Cap Grille for my dear friend Laura on January 7th... Wine opens with subtle nose, classic Margaux accents, vanilla, cherry and leather she comes together making a wonderful pairing with our lamb chops and porterhouse steak. She loses some intensity as the hours drag, I'd consume the next bottle within an hour or so. Decent length, but nothing close to her big sister. You can tell it's Margaux, but i'd say Margaux light. I found their 2009 third wine a better value and far better potential than this Pavillon. Not to say it's bad at all, just better than most second wines, and probably a bit expensive for what it is.

Almost a ruby crystal color in the glass. Showed great currant and blackberry fruit with some leather from age on the nose and palate. Amazingly delicious from bottle open for 2-3 hours. Unfortunately I let it rest some and when I came back, it had fallen apart and had lost any vivacity. Not bad just nothing interesting left in the last third. I would recommend drinking upon opening and not getting it too much air.

I love Margaux; this is my second time with Pavillon and again it doesn't bear quite as much resemblance to the maitre as you might hope. Dark fruited and cedary to start, showing a powdery geranium nose with mineral undertones with a couple of hours in the decanter. Just not quite as much depth as you'd hope. From 375.
