This wine consistently drinks well. A good QPR, especially for a week night wine. Rich and full bodied with dark red fruit, supple tannins.

Not sure there's not another bottle honing in storage. This still has life - a good balance of fruit, eatthiness. Alcohol seems a bit high.

Fairly light for a zin, lacking a bit in fruit. But, not a bad Tuesday night wine.

Getting some nice black raspberry on night two.

(From Pech Merle)
This summertime ray of sunshine radiates your nose with fresh cut pineapple, white grapefruit, & a hint of cilantro. A streak of honeydew rind and lime leaf tickles your nose as your lips captivate the brisk acidity and juicy quintessence of this citrus laced sauvignon blanc. Pair with heirloom tomato & peach salad with toasted almonds, fresh basil, & ricotta cheese.

A fairly simple wine - it does have a hint of pepper, which elevates it IMO.

On the lighter side for a zin, nicely structured though and not too sweet. Very nice.

Bright red color with slow legs. Aromas of baking spices and a mix of blueberry, blackberry and raspberry. Tammy palette with some plum and cinnamon on the backend. Long leathery finish. Excellent QPR.

With Artichoke Calzone….
a “one off”?
Really nice very smooth and restrained for 15.3 alc.
Lots of berries love and low oak premise.
Nose a little closed keeping the score down a couple of points. Wish I had more to see if this opens up a bit?!
UPDATE- 75 minutes in nose opening to some clean raspberries abd light creosote….score upgrade
Rockpile is a GREAT Vineyard!

Black pepper, blueberry, and blackberry. Not too jammy, but rather nicely balanced. Medium-bodied and silky.

Pech Merle Wine (pronounced Pesh-Mael) 2018 Ivy Rosé de Carignan: Fresh, bright throughout, & fruity with a savory edge, this refreshing rosé possesses aromas and flavors of ripe red berries wrapped in a citrusy acidity, finishing with subtle yet unmistakable herbal notes. Very enjoyable, and I agree with the owners: the name may be hard to say, but the wine is easy to drink. Check them out at pechmerlewinery.com.

Some clown named 'Now_in_Mi' here on CT wrote 11 tasting "notes" here on CT for this wine. Ten times he gave it an 85 and the 11th time? An 88. Well, s/he got one thing right, it has improved over time. My original notes have held true, but this bottle has more tropical notes (mango, guava) than tree fruit. I did not mention it before, but this is much closer to Sancerre than it is to New Zealand. Thank goodness. thedrunkencyclist.com

A couple of years ago, I was out in Dry Creek Valley and on a whim, I stopped into the Peach Merle in Geyserville. As I am want to do, I struck up a conversation with the very attractive tasting room manager (don't tell my wife). As I tasted through the current releases, I kept thinking of this wine, the first that I had tasted, and I purchased a couple of bottles. A couple of years have passed, but this wine is still alive and kicking wildly. Bosc pear and white flowers dominate the nose, with a rich palate of pear and apple, with some minerality on the mid-palate and a lengthy finish. A very un-Sauvignon Blanc SB. Yum. thedrunkencyclist.com
