Pale yellow. matchstick and melon nose. Tropical fruits with a long, dry shell finish -reminiscent of grand CRU Chablis. Truely delicious drinking now especially for the price.

I bought this with high expectations due to all the fuss about PYCM. This is a very good to excellent wine, but I think the suggestion that it rivals the 1er Cru of better producers is misplaced. There is strong acidity with lemony citrus and a bit of peach on the palate. The nose gave me a a shot of alcohol sufficient to make me check the label and was surprised to find an ABV under 13%. I would have guessed 14% at least. It just doesn't have the light on its feet fruitiness or the complexity that I expect from an excellent white Burg. Perhaps his 1er Cru have it, or perhaps it needed a few years in the bottle.

The wine is clear and pale lemon in colour.
The nose is clean with medium (+) intensity aromas of primary citrus fruits such as lemon and stone fruits such as nectarine, secondary aromas of oak such as vanilla and mlf such as butter, and tertiary aromas of nuts such as hazelnuts and smoke. The wine is developing.
The palate is dry with medium acidity, medium alcoho (12.5%), medium body and medium (+) intensity flavours of lemon, nectarine, vanilla, butter, smoke, hazelnut. The wine has a medium (+) finish.
The wine is very good quality. It can be drunk now but is suitable for further ageing for 2 years.

Bright light yellow. Very elegant nose of smoke, lemon, hazelnut and wet stone. Dry precise flavours of lemon curd and stone. Very crisp finish.

Very well balanced for an 09.

Wow. From the lowly bourgogne on through the Montrachet, PYCM delivers time after time. Aside from a singular corked bottle, they have all been absolutely incredible. Blinded, I would have said at least village level. Fresh with just the right amount of acid, you would not confuse this for anything other than a beautiful white burg. That being said, it falls apart a little on the finish, but I have had much worse in 1ers of other vignerons. Definitely would like to have more bottles/cases of this one as for the price, it is a daily drinker.

On the nose clear peach infused lemon flavours. Obvious oak adds a thick texture which creates a beautifully balanced wine integrating acidity, fruit and wood. Very nice! Mouth filling, thick, juicy full bodied feel in the mouth with flavours that are truly delicious.

Highly recommended!

After drinking thru several of the '11's, this seemed much fatter, with less of a mineral finish. Beautiful fruit, but drinking a bit young. Hold for another year.

If someone ever had a marketing meeting to try to figure out how to sell a bottle of wine to me personally, they probably couldn't come up with anything better than "Vieilles Vignes Ceps Centenaires." Not a whole lot of ceps centenaires in Burgundy... here's one of them. It's still a village wine, though, and I'm not sure the style is totally to my liking. It's edgy at first from CO2 and stays kind of edgy even after I think I've got the CO2 taken care of. That's something often said about Santenay but usually in reference to a somewhat rustic structure, but the thing is, this wine isn't especially structured at all. The experience is at times kind of like drinking a rough-around-the-edges Beaujolais with its very-primary fruit and rustic texture, and at times kind of like drinking New World pinot, albeit a good one, in those moments when the the fruit is particularly assertive. I'm hoping some of that primary fruit concentration reflects an underlying seve that will unwind to show some more interesting character if left in the cellar. No idea where this one is going though.

Wow. Looked so fresh with certainly no sign of any premox. Soft nose but intense. Enters gently and delicately onto the palate belying its hidden power. Indian spice and mild curry leaf essence layered over beautifully intergrated fruit and subtle oak. Seriously long length. Truly delicious.

Exceptionally good - nice acid structure, textbook Meursault white nuts / lemon / hints of tropical fruit, maybe a touch of ripe apple, some sweet florals - more honeysuckle / orange blossom than, say, violets or roses. Perhaps just a touch lacking in extract/structure compared to the very best bottles but this is perfectly enjoyable now; rather forward and accessible so I would not risk aging this any longer.

Needed about an hour of air to really get going. Ripe peaches, orange citrus, pineapple, fresh hazelnut/macadamia, flowers, classy french oak that suggests sesame seed -- distinctly Meursault. Dense and concentrated and intense, quite structured with good mineral bite, but the extract is fine and silky and there's great acidity that keeps the wine airy and lengthens the fruit through the finish. Phenomenal and grand cru quality.

Transparent greenish yellow. Excellent aromas of citrus and oak. Very nice. Nice acidity and minerality. Perfectly balanced wine. Nice structure. Elegant, slightly fruity finish. A barely legal, albeit ready to sip now, young lady. Think the sassy high school gal everyone liked, but she never was quite the belle of the ball. Very reasonable price.

this was tense and somewhat linear though its mineral streak kept it from being an acid bomb with primary citrus as some PM's (and I like them this way) can be, enjoyed by all and especially those who say they like leaner / suav blanc type palate

Stunningly beautiful wine. Summer flowers, ripe apple, pear, lemon peel, mint, anise and so many more elements coming through on nose. Equally complex and nuanced flavors. I normally decant PYCM wines because they are reductive to start, but that's not the case here. There was stunning right out of the gate, and stayed persistently great through three hours open. Wow.
