Needs 2h to open up properly.

Nose of light peaches, supple oak, honeycomb. Palate is much more interesting with underripe apple, acacia flower, lime zest, flint. Finish shows nice white minerality and a kiss of citrus.

I was in the midst of writing a very critical note (87) and then the wine transformed in front of me. I stepped away for 20min and came back to this enjoyable bottle. It is not coiled or layered the way you find the top Walter Scott or Morgen Long wines to be. But it does have nice complexity for its price. Many of those higher end chards I've had tend to be better closer to room temp than cellar temp, but this shows best with a slight chill.

90-91ish, drinks well now with 2h air but should do well in the cellar for another 6-8 years.

Big fruit for a Willamette Pinot: raspberry, blueberry with hint of tobacco and sweet spice
But that’s it—nothing beyond the big fruit. A little tang on the palate but no tannins.
No development of flavor after initial nose.
Not a great food wine, but pleasant by itself

Retail $35. A bit awkward at first but with air some nice fruit on the nose. Great mouth feel with an earthiness that was lacking in the CA wines. Screaming for a pork chop. Very Good to Excellent. 89-91 Points.

Perfect Pinot translucent rose color. A short story could be written failing to descrbe the depth, sensuous range of the nose, a whiff calls out serious wine, you can actually smell the Pinot soul. A taste description wnould be inept, silky, vibrant, fresh, deep, tinges of natural acid, backbone. Immediately reminded me of the Domaine Drouhin Laurene botting which I have not tasted for years (never available). Hope to taste side by side.

Served cold but rather super vibrant to it. Tangy but with some texture to it. Not as flabby and mealy, more crisp and cutting.

I had a bottle of this six months ago and it was still too tight. This bottle tasted lovely. Well balanced and still has time to age.

Light golden yellow in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of apples, grapefruit & lemons/limes with overtones of floral notes of honeysuckle & minerals, stony & a slight hint of honey in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, zesty, ripe fruit flavors of green apples & citrus notes of grapefruits & lemons/limes with minerals, some butterscotch & a slight touch of vanilla. Lingering crisp finish. Drinks quite well at present & should develop further with additional aging.

This was an incredibly enjoyable mature Pinot Noir. Dried strawberry and general earthiness. Enjoyed with Tuckie Tim and Tp Jac as we celebrated Emmy’s 11th Bday. Drink now.

My second time tasting a Ponzi Pinot, and there will be many more to come. The 2018 reserve is a nice bottle of Pinot that is ready for consumption. It is on the heavier side, has little tannin, and isn't overly fruity. It is not as good as the 2019 Estate that I tasted recently, but still very nice. Is it worth $48 a bottle? Probably not.

My first time tasting a Ponzi Pinot, and certainly not my last. The 2019 Laurelwood Pinot has a deep Ruby color, and a fantastic nose. The wine is no lightweight either. It is a full bodied Pinot, something that is uncommon for Oregon. I thought that the wine was delicious, and I plan to taste another Ponzi Pinot in a few days. Is it worth $34 a bottle? You bet!

Solid, if a little pedestrian. Typical pinot characteristics on the nose, cherries, floral, hints of baking spice. Good concentration on the palate, though the finish is a little short. Tannin is fairly light. Basically delivers for Willamette at this price point but there’s a lot of similar stuff out there at this price point that suits my palate better.

A very aromatic and approachable Chardonnay where the oak is well integrated. A nice collection of orchard fruit and lemon. Refreshing, crisp, and light enough to enjoy by itself. Has a Burgundian feel to it otherwise (reminds me of some Chassagne Montrachet) and supposedly this is the last vintage before it was taken over by a producer from France.

Notably light bodied. But if you can take that, the flavor profile is pretty with red berry and a little minerality. Misses mid palette and finish entirely. Unsatisfying but drinkable.

Absolutely leaps out of the glass with aromas of cranberry sauce, dried roses, and campfire smoke. The palate is much more refined, offering notes of rich blue and red fruits, an almost stone like minerality , and a touch of baking spice. It’s light bodied, but with a long, layered finish, and just enough tannins. Develops wonderfully in the glass, giving just a glimpse of what it can be. Enjoy it now or lay it down for 10 years.

Purple medium ruby. Smelled violets, cranberry, and some funk; the taste was a bit lighter with red fruit and some oak spice. Medium-minus in mouthfeel, leaning elegant but not lacking power. Finishes medium and fruity.
