Memorial Day Weekend (Anniversary Weekend); 5/22/2015-5/26/2015 (Home): Decanted 5 hours. Deep tanzanite color leads to a nose of blueberry pie and dark chocolate. Full bodies contains loads of blue and black fruit but little to no secondary flavors. Amazing finish lasts well over a minute.

This bottle seems less evolved than bottle one year ago.

Purple in color. 14.9% ABV. Great nose of blue fruits, violets and molten licorice. Plush and silky on the palate. Flavors of blueberries, graphite creme de cassis. Beautiful finish. What a delicious Merlot. Only a slight step down from the flagship Cabernet Sauvignon. I do wish Quilceda Creek still bottled a Merlot. Drink over the next 2-4 years.

Had with roast duck at Red Cow Seattle. Very well integrated and layered. Still has time left but very enjoyable now with some decanting.

Decanted. After about 30 minute open, this showed graphite and intense black cherry. After about an hour open, it showed plums, dark chocolate, cherry liqueur, menthol, and some charred wood. While this is surprisingly lightweight on the palate, the nose leads you to believe this might be somewhat syrupy. Medium bodied with a softer tannic finish than I expected. As others have suggested, this isn't really a food wine, but it has its own complexity and is a fun wine to drink. This bottle seemed to be drinking quite well with a relatively short decant.

Phenomenal wine, rich and thick. Incredible depth and notes of chocolate overwhelm at first. The fruit is dark and brooding. This wine can go for years and years still. Drank at a close friends wedding which is how you want to enjoy this wine.

Good balance, amazing silky texture, lots of toasted oak and tar as the fruit slowly disapates. I'd drink yup through the next 5 years.

1 hr decant. nose of balck cherry with a hint of coffee and orange peel. The 15.2% ABV is really noticeable when consumed with food. After another hr in the decanter the wine became more full with some chocolate and vanilla aromas.

Opaque purple color turning crimson at the rim with a nose of vanilla, somoke and ripe dark berries. The palate is full-bodied, velvety in texture, supple and fruity. Flavors of plum, blackberry, dark cherry, black licorice, cola, vanilla, and liqueur. Very lively, approachable, rich and ripe. Finishes long with hints of smoke and graphite. Great value! Drink now with 30 minutes decanting until 2022. 93+

Last of our '99s. Still remarkably structured and in need of air. That said, it remains a lovely merlot if at the end of its drinking window.

Needed a solid 4 hour decant to settle down the considerable oak, but after that it was delicious.

Opened about two hours before dinner, but not decanted. I was completely blown away by the quality of this wine, as it was much better than the previous bottles tasted in 2011 and 2012. Incredibly extroverted on the nose, offering up notes of cassis, black cherry, vanilla, leather and cedar. Medium to full bodied, with a heavenly texture, great depth, layers of flavor, and an incredibly long finish. For me, a perfect bottle!

Mother's Day wine. opened for two hours , re-corked and took to restaurant (John Howie Steakhouse). It was decanted at the restaurant and consumed over the next 2 1/2 hours.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, blueberry, black currant (cassis) and red currant. It tastes like red currant, black currant (cassis), blueberry, forest floor and black olive. The body is medium/full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

This one did not turned out the way I expected. After tasting couple of bottles of the 2006 Galitzine Vineyard I expected more balanced wine. Overripe dark fruit with alcohol dominating the nose; no finesse, no balance, not my style.

Agree with comments of several others. Wine is rich, silky with great fruit forward. Hints of berries, light chocolate. Wife also tasted cigar (as noted by another reviewer). I like the length on palatte, good 30-40 seconds. Would score it higher except it lacks the depth/layers of finer wines. Each sip seem to garner different flavors indicating its not fully integrated, little bit all over the place. Has higher alc for aging, but not sure if it will get better or not. Another reviewer questioned if Washington wines ae built for long haul. Have two more bottles, so we shall see. If any can, it would be this one, but I have my doubts.

Decanted 4 hours and it is a must. A very strong wine, still a little too young, but I can clearly see the potential, both the smell and palate are superb, It smells like black currant (cassis), strawberry jam, plum, espresso, toast, smokey bacon, pine and vanilla. long long finish with over 45 seconds.

The 2004 Quilceda Creek is a stunning wine, with a nose that evolves to reveal layers of boysenberry, cassis, charcoal, dark chocolate, pain grillé and exotic spice. Truly, this is among the best of Washington, there is a reason why Quilceda has attained cult status. On the palate, massive structure is deceptively cloaked in silky, velvety, inky overtones. Steeped blackberries, roasted black cherries and cedar intertwine to give lift, polish, and a most luxurious, elegant finish. The balance is impeccable. 14.9% ABV

Took to dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday last week. Don't recall the specific flavor profile but it was singing right out of the bottle. Been holding on to my QC's for a long time for them to come around and after seeing some recent comments here decided it was time to uncork one. Was not disappointed.

Grabbed this bottle by mistake and thought I had grabbed the lesser priced red blend. Oops! No time to decant and had to drink. Scrumptious nose of dark fruit and wood. Color is gorgeous dark ruby. Could not believe how approachable this is now. Some tannins but softer and sweeter. No sign of 15% alcohol. Full, rich body with an incredible finish just asking for more. As with almost any wine this winery makes, it is remarkable. Among the top wines I have ever had. Many more years of enjoyment for those of you fortunate enough to have this wine.

Domestic Cab dinner (Eddie V's): Very ripe yet vegetal nose displaying black fruit, fruit cake, coffee, ink, port and earth. Very good concentration, clumsy overripe black fruits, vegetal and a bit of heat. Not a big fan. I have enjoyed 90’s Quilceda Creek so I am hoping this will come together but I doubt it.

No nose to speak of. Pleasant but monolithic flavor. No complexity or charm. I can't even say it's Parkerized because it's really not that concentrated. Boring, forgettable, vastly overpriced and overrated. I would not pay $30 for this wine.
