This is drinking wonderfully right now. Best Cherry Camp I have had, EVER. Smooth, integrated, balanced, fruity forward. Delicious.

A beautiful California Pinot Noir. Massive floral nose. Intoxicating aromas really. The palate has nice weight with a great balance. This is killer stuff.

Much improved over last year, but still needs healthy aeration. It's a Syrah, right?

Intense ripe red fruit on the nose and up front in the mouth, moving quickly into a complex / earthy / gravel middle and finishing long with plenty of tannin and some black pepper and spice. She says "so it's a Syrah mullet? New world in front, old world in back" - yeah, kinda. Delicious.

Last tasted a little over 8 months ago. Pretty much the same, except there's the addition of blueberry on the nose. So, the aromas and flavors both have blackberry, cassis, black cherry, blueberry, roasted game meat, smoke and cigar box. Still a little jammy, along with being big, rich and powerful in the mouth. Tannins about the same as last time, still not resolved. Great structure. The longer the wine is open, there seems to be more prevalence of cigar box from the oak.

At the beach on Memorial Day weekend, drank after a Louis Jadot Pommard. Splash decanted, drank over an hour.

Vibrant red fruit nose, raspberries and herbs, jumps out of the glass. Palate of red fruits, savory/meats, mushrooms. Finishes long. Great wine from a difficult vintage. Should add complexity in the bottle over next few years

Modern, cola, spice, and some light funk on the nose. Medium/heavy bodied for a pinot with low acid and light tannins. Taste was dominated by intense cola, black fruits, maybe a touch of mushroom in there somewhere. Overall, not my style, but got less intensely fruity after an hour. Should hold up for a while, but I don't know where this is going.

This was much, much better the 2nd day (in 1/2 bottle in fridge), more restrained fruit some better mushroom earth, and even some minerality. Still not impressed. 2nd day 88.

From a great vineyard, a great vintage and an interesting producer.

14.1% abv. Medium gold. Citrus and stone on the nose. Intriguing lemon, pear and mineral on the palate. Rich mouthfeel, but simultaneously lively and penetrating. ep and long. This Anderson Valley beauty delivers!

Dark garnet body; somewhat opaque. Still purple on the rim. Aromas and flavors of raspberry, some blueberry, cigar box from the oak, spice and some cola. Fairly full bodied and intense fruit. Good structure. Tannins are not totally resolved, but resolved enough to enjoy the wine now. Still, I'll wait a year or so before opening the next bottle. A long and fairly lingering finish. Paired nicely with Atlantic salmon.

I really don't get this wine. Not much of a pinot drinker either. Hopefully it will improve. Probably won't buy any more. If anyone is out there that would like to buy some please contact me.

Last tasted just over four years ago. Still a dark ruby colored body, with a reddish hue consistent with a maturing wine. Certainly in a matured state now. Similar aromas and flavors from when last tasted: strawberry, cherry, cola, tree bark, a hint of thyme and balanced but not over whelming vanillin. Rich and intense fruit. Soft and velvety. Well balanced. A long and lingering finish. A great pairing with prime rib-eye. Probably time to drink up soon.

Pineapple, vanilla oak and toffee on the nose, with a hint of almond paste. Heavy body and a smooth, long finish, with peach, ripe apple and vanilla throughout. Still nicely balanced, mild acidity. Not buttery. Definitely a mature chardonnay at this point.

Followed over 2 days. Violet core with a lighter red rim. The nose shows a wildness mixed with some classy dark fruit. Hard to pin down, but quite enjoyable. Rich blackberry on the palate underpinned with savory notes & more wild/exotic fruit. A strong acid & tannic backbone weaves this into balance. Spice & smoke linger on the finish. I find Syrah like this fascinating. Great effort from Mr. Sussman.

Earth, spice, currant on nose. Nicely balanced, with mix of black cherries and dark raspberries. A bit sweet and juicy for my palate, though a good bite of acidity. Solid CA pinot.

The cork seemed thoroughly soaked, but the ullage was still highish in the neck. Drinking at its apogee now. Aromas and flavors of blackberry, cassis, raspberry, hints of road tar and bacon fat (slightly so), perfume, cigar box from the oak. Big, rich and intense fruit. Soft and velvety in the mouth. Very well balanced at this stage. The longer the wine is open, the vanillin seems more noticeable. Really good stuff. Unfortunately, my last bottle.

Ripe and intense nose, loads of red cherry fruit. Somewhat dry and stemmy on the palate lacking some sweetness to the fruit, but still has a nice dry cherry and strawberry finish with a nice tinge of bitterness. Not sure this will improve much, but still very tasty.

Drinking well immediately, which surprised me a bit. Potent, wonderful aroma; flavors were a little minty with dusty tannins up front, which I expected to blow off quickly. As those initial flavors receded the wine developed into a sumptuous, integrated, fruity delight. Wow. I want more. Not sure where all the comments about sugar/over-extraction are coming from, as this wine is well balanced and very tasty. I can see where one might think this wine was "sweet," but it's "sweet" in the way that a great coffee can be sweet, in that it's not...but it seems like it is.
