Decanted for 3 hours. Upon opening full nose w/strong backbone. Dark leather color w/very good legs. Initial taste prior to letting open: Full well rounded taste w/very good oak & tannins that held well to the mouth. Not exceptionally big like Brunello but a very strong presence. Full mouth feel of tar, leather. After decanting; Heavier feel w/fuller finish. Flavors of tar, anise, leather. Still very nice nose that supports the flavors of the wine . More length at this time. This wine cries out for Parmagino Reggianon & Salumi! Edge came off after 4 hours & paired well w/pasta & leeks & pancetta in a cream sauce. Still had very good body. A most enjoyable wine!

Copper colored. Baking spice, caramel on the nose. Sweet, sour, spicy on the palate, with a long, complex finish. Delicious.

Tasted after a 3-hour decant.

Good, but not great. This is supposed to be a Sangiovese-Cabernet-Merlot blend, but the Cabernet is the only varietal that makes itself known. This wine was low in acidity and tannins, noticeable by their absence since we were eating steak. It also lacked the complex minerally and savory characteristics that I associate with a good Super Tuscan. I'd describe it as tasting like a generic Cabernet Sauvignon from a middling vintage.

It was a sad evening. Tasted more like vinegar than vin santo. Defintely past its prime which was surprising despite storing in proper conditions. Wish I had opened it sooner...

Big bold and elegant. Definitely Sangiovese with lots of fruit and tobacco. The fruit stays all throughout the taste and a heavy but elegant dry tannin finishes the mouth. This wine needs serious aeration to open up. Still has over a decade of prime life.

Light bronze color with a nose of caramel and dried apricot. Raisin and honey on the rich palate. Turns metallic with charcoal notes on the finish, probably past it's time.

Amazing. Carried in my bag back from a wedding in Tuscany. Definitely just passing its prime, but all of the flavors were well-melded, beautiful, sweet and delicious.

Drinking well. Best with traditional Tuscan food. Full, deep, well balanced with notes of Tuscan earth, dark fruit and a bit of barnyard. Terrific.

A great nobile. Careful not to decent too much. A great wine with a nice finish and good with or without food. I actually think it's better without food.

Wow! A huge improvement from my last bottle. The nose is true to its origin, mix of dried tart cherries and Tuscan herbs., On the palate, medium tannins, body is medium to full, balanced notes of tart cherry and herbs, all surrounded by that "element" that undoubtably makes this wine a vino Nobile

Prior tasters must have had corked bottles, because this was delicious. Dried red cherry fruit, a touch of eucalyptus, a bit softer and well rounded than many STs thanks to the merlot dominated blend. moderate tannins. Quite tasty. 13,5 abv.
