14.5% alcohol. Crimson color. Pretty nose of black currant and cassis, with a nice earthy, tobacco-tinged note. In the mouth, beautiful balance, with bold fruit and good, refined back end structure. Good acidity helps focus the earthy notes. This is terrific. A-

After having some of the more recent efforts disappoint me a bit, I think this SC harkens back to some of the early vintages produced. More dark than red fruit and acidity to balance that out. For a PN, it can tread a bit to the side of hedonistic, particularly if you're a Burgundian style fan (in which case, I'm not sure that RM is your bag anyway). An absolute joy to taste from open to day two and solid QPR. The fruit does integrate some with air and the alc blows off too, so it definitely has a good 5-7 years in it, but it'll be tough to wait that long.

Ruby colored with nose of bright red fruits.

Palate is medium+ bodied and with bright red fruit flavors, but missing the distinctive RM note of orange rind. Acidity is med+ and completes a wine that is superbly balanced and flat out delicious. While a bit bigger than what I usually like, this remains one of the best QPRs in California wine.

Nice fairly rich/red fruit up-front, smooth mid-palate, and solid finish. Really nice balance and easy drinking. However, drank next to a 2012 Quivet Kenefick Ranch cab and I thought the Kenefick was quite a bit better. Both were really good for the price point but I just prefer the bluer fruit and flavor profile of the Kenefick. Slow ox for two hours, decanted for another two, and drank over another two. Improved with time but not a big improvement.

One of, if not the best, California Pinot Noir QPR on the market.

Mixture of well balanced redfruit, especially raspberry on the nose. Medium bodied and perhaps a bit above that, but with excellent density without being over extracted. Beautiful red raspberry and red cherry notes upfront. Finishes with good tartness in the background and an excellent mineral and earth streak. Finish is acidity based and matches with the strength of the fruit. This is drinking even better than previously, with better balance and integration, while still showcasing the expressive fruit. Still has some room for future improvement, but drinking exceptionally well now.

PnP, but this note after being open about 90 minutes. Dark red. Nice nose of ripe Cabernet fruit, green olive, spice. This has evolved considerably since being first opened with better balance and acidity being apparent after what was a relatively soft and forward initial presentation. Although the palate impression is quite velvety there is residual acidity to make it more interesting. Nice at age 5 - probably not a long ager.

No formal notes, but I really like this wine. Very elegant, lighter style with lovely acidity and bright red fruit.

Really in a good spot already. Great QPR at $25. Cannot recommend this any more highly.

Nicely straddling line (for me) between oak/tropical and citrus/mineral. Seemingly less oak and butter than last year's vintage.

This is drinking fantastic right now. Classic RM SC of orange peel, darker red fruits, pine needle. The vintage shows here too, a richer side of RM but there is plenty of complementary notes here to make it drink like a winner. Excellent.

Great wine and great value. Voluptous and great fruit with long finish. Still some tannins and likely better in a year or two.

Drinking very well. Soft and approachable but with nice depth and finish. Fine for the price and the vintage.

Popped and poured, medium yellow/gold. Effusive nose of flint, lemon curd, key lime, apple blossoms, an impression of minerals and oak. Aeration brings out more of the mineral notes and a hint a petrol. Medium body, good concentration. Solid core of honeyed apples, citrus and oak on the palate along with a smooth, Grand Cru-esque mouthfeel that's perfectly balanced by lively acidity on the lingering close. Seems to keep putting on weight with air.
An outstanding Chardonnay but far too young at present, needs 2-4 years and is built to give plenty more for many after.

On entry: Ripe plum, black fruits, forest floor. The plum repeats itself, with hints of sage, camphor, and menthol adding cut and contrasting interest to the full fruit flavors. Still a little monolithic and young at this stage. Enjoyable now, but better integrated in a couple of years. Solid wine!

Opened ahead of release of the 2013. Floral nose out of the bottle. Lush fruit on the palate. Oak is discern able on the back end. The fruit comes more to the fore over time. This should do well for many years.

A delicious beast of a bottle. Young but was great. Needs a filter when pouring - our bottle had a ton of sediment. Black and blue fruit core, with some sweetness but cab all the way. Well balanced with a good finish even in it's youth.

Tasted non blind.

Dark garnet to purple color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of berries, cherries and plums. Flavors of currants, berries and plums. Medium acidity, medium tannin, full bodied. Drink with air or continue to hold.

Opened for an hour or so before tasting. Medium dark red. Complex nose of darker fruits and a floral/spicy quality as well. Lovely full taste and body with good richness but perhaps a bit lacking on the finish. This is quite intriguing as the dark fruits and flavors are quite distinct from the blood orange/red fruited wines one often get from this area. Vineyard management, clones, vinification or vintage? Very good.

Raspberry and earth on the nose. Just a touch above medium bodied, but refined and beautifully balanced with a richness through the middle and a wonderful mouthfeel. Red raspberry and red cherry upfront with sour cherry behind. Very nice acidity based structure lends enough tartness to balance and structure the fruit. Enough minerals and acidity on the end to give length. For a weaker overall vintage, this is an impressive effort. Drinking at or near peak, but given the fruit and acidity, it should have few years at this level.
