This wine always performs above its price point. Apple and lemon notes with a creamy mouthfeel. The majority of juice in this bottle is from 2016 and then disgorged in 2019 (and purchased on release) A few years of holding always add some weight. 12.5% alc. 04.13.24. With lobster mac 'n cheese. Recommended.

Next level on day 2. Sat out for 2 hours on day 1 and then recorked. Amazing still life left. Lemon, sour apple, dough, mild chalk, orange peel and spice. Super complex. Maybe the best bottle to date.

Pale lemon. Med (+) aromas and flavor characteristics of honeysuckle, lemon, lime, pear, apple, white peach, bread, pastry, bread dough, cream. Dry, high acidity, med alcohol, med (+) body, med (+) finish. Fine persistent bubbles that give a creamy mousse. Very good quality- wine is well balanced between fruit characteristics, refreshing high acidity, and medium alcohol. It shows good complexity between medium (+) intensity primary fruit aromas (apple, lemon, white peach) and secondary aromas (bread, dough, cream). If the length of finish was a little longer, this could be an outstanding wine. Lack of tertiary aroma characteristics of hazelnut or honey combined with the good presence of fruit and high acidity indicate this wine is suitable for bottle aging and may develop further desirable characteristics in the bottle over the next 3 years.

A pleasant, soft mousse, very refreshing and an unmistakable aroma of lemon poppyseed cake. More lemon juice on the palate (there's the lemon glaze to that poppyseed cake), some apple, both fresh green and bruised apple, crème fraiche/cheesy notes, and violet. A bit of residual sugar is present, just a bit, which is very much welcome to balance out that tangy acidity, with a good amount of yogurt and sour cream on the finish (iffy on that) as well as mascarpone (very much welcome). I still have yet to fully jump aboard the sparkling wine train, but this gets me one step closer to the station.

This bottle of bubbles surprised me!
It was fabulous!

It had all the things your mama told you about good Champagne... Except it isn't from the supposed centre of the bubbles universe. It's from sunny CA, USA! 🤣

Like a finely baked brioche, with citrus accents and that cinnamon scent after just pulling Mama's apple pie from the oven, and the creamy viscosity of that dollop of pure vanilla ice cream melts away, as the bubbles/mousse burst on the tongue.

( I know the descriptors here are a little far fetched. I mean, ice cream? But, it was certainly memorable!)

I'm in the midst of tasting and testing sparkling wines from several countries and, so far, this is indubitably my very biased leader... at least as they're galloping along on the back stretch!

More to come..

Buy a case. Save it. Is fabulous now. Definitely going to improve!

PS- Drink The Rainbow!!

Perfectly lovely sparkler - great balance of fruit, acidity. Lemon and stone fruit nicely integrated. Nuanced with deep lingering flavors. Body was very pleasing and tiny bubbles made it all the more festive. At 17 years old, it is just peaking from my perspective. It's age added to the complexity.

coppery salmon colour and very fine bubbles. bruised apple, raspberry, strawberry and brioche nose accented with spring blooms and a sprinkling of almonds. very fresh and full in the mouth, it is framed by twin acidic and mineral veins. there is a layered autolytic richness to the tartness of the fruit flavours that gives it impressive depth. very long with a bright berry note in the finish.

very gastronomic and richly rewarding, both viscerally and cerebrally.

12.7% AbV; dosage 8g/L; 50% Chardonnay/ 50% Pinot Noir; 3.9% reserve wine from 2014, 2012, and 2010; colour comes from 4.5% still red wine; five years on the lees.

pale straw colour and very fine bubbles. white pear, very fresh pineapple, and lemony zest aromas are infused with a subtle layer of just-baked croissant with sliced almonds on top. dry and full on the entry, this wine unfolds in crisp layers of interleaved orchard and citric fruit permeated with autolytic flavours. floral notes and a hint of marzipan come thru on the very long finish.

while very well balanced, it shows a bit of the ripeness of the late-season heat spike… this should fold into the acidity with a bit more time and drink spectacularly well. upside potential here.

13.2% AbV; dosage 7.5g/L; 52% Chardonnay/ 46% Pinot Noir/ 2% Pinot Meunier; 4.9% reserve wine from 2012; five years on the lees.

[2023 release]

pale salmon and small bubbles. fresh strawberry and red apples on a nose punctuated with gentle brioche notes. soft and round on entry, it takes a moment for the fruit to unfold, and it does so in fresh, subtle and crunchy red berry layers with spring herb accents. bright acidic lift and good length.

12.5% AbV; dosage 8g/L; 56% Pinot Noir/ 44% Chardonnay; colour comes from ~4% still red wine (saignée); base vintage is 2019 and includes up to ~10% reserve wines (going back some four seasons); two years on the lees.

[2023 release]

greenish straw colour, small bubbles. gentle yeast and nutty notes accent a nose of apple, pear and lemon zest. very smooth, round, and very fresh in the mouth. good balance of crispness and richness in the apple flavours with agreeable accents of brioche and ginger. racy citric finish with pithy notes of moderate length.

very good and pleasing sparkler… having both enough richness and acidity, it should not only not offend high-acid snobs, but also have enough universal appeal as an aperitif or for toasting.

12.5% AbV; dosage 10g/L; 60% Chardonnay/ 40% Pinot Noir; base vintage is 2019 and includes up to ~10% reserve wines (going back some four seasons); two years on the lees.

Drank at Kuro in Hard Rock AC, about $70 on wine list, solid bubbles, golden color, good flavors, never got flabby as we drank, drank with sushi rolls, tempura veggies and eggplant, I go up and down with this wine, it was in good form with this bottle, it is always difficult to know what you are drinking without disgorgement dates on non vintage sparkling wines, might drink again depending on wine list, not a wine I would have at home due to better options at retail.

A bit of red apple on the nose and taste. Very nice balance; crisp; refreshing. Very pleasant, although there doesn't seem to be a lot going on beyond the basics. This may be my first time with the rose and it seems a touch heavier than the non-rose, which I had immediately following this one. All in all though, not much difference between the two.
