Much nicer bottle than the one I had a month ago. Tannin a lot less evident, fruit is now evident. Smooth medium finish.

A throwback to the days that I first started drinking wine. Big plummy fruit aromas, a little stalkiness, some eucalyptus. Not unpleasant, but certainly not a bouquet that calls out to me. The palate was not bad, but not to my taste. This was very much in line with the "international style". Bright plum and cassis fruit, soft tannins, bright acid, a little warm spice. All decently put together but rather anonymous. Not bad, no harm drinking, but not one I would go out seeking.

This wine has good chardonnay qualities, buttery, citrus notes, but i tastetoo much sulphur in it to enjoy it.

Inky colour, almost black. Musky earthy aroma with a slight alcohol undertone. Medium to full body. Reasonably smooth taste with long finish. Fruit is present, tannin exist but not overpowering at all. Dark fruit and cassis with chocolate. Given the colour and aroma I expected it to be a lot dryer than it was. Still has a couple of years left.

On the first night it had very strong tannin that dried the tongue too much and a slightly tarty taste. It improved on the second night but still performed flat with an uneven flavour profile.

Deep purple colour. Medium to full body, slightly hit aroma but smooth flavour of plum and dark fruit. Tannin not too heavy. It is my last bottle and it was a very good finish.

Aged faded plum appearance; port-like nose, chocolate and stewed damson and plums. Smokey chocolate; complex fruits on the palate, nice filling mouthful. Good but nothing special.

Dark crimson colour. Medium body, underlying tannin but full fruit flavour. Dark berries and fruit cake flavour with undertones of spice. Very nice wine to enjoy by itself or with a nice steak. Unfortunately only had one bottle of this vintage.

The 2013 Rosemount Estate Shiraz is currently rated as 86 points by the CellarTracker community. Wine Spectator rates the 2012 vintage 87 points (no rating available for the 2013). I have to go against the grain here. I did not enjoy this wine. It wasn't bad, but I would have to dig deep for any redeeming qualities. I did not care to finish the bottle on the first night and, even more rare, I didn't bother to touch it on day two. Surprisingly, this inexpensive grocery store purchase did retain much of its character on day three and I was content with the final pours. I am not sure if the bottle actually improved on day three, or if I simply had better insight on what to expect. Overall, the dark berry notes and spice I hoped for did not seem to integrate well here. This wine has a medium body, medium tannins, medium acidity, and a tad bit of heat that quickly disappears. The wine comes off as underwhelming and off-character in its taste profile. This is especially poignant given that Rosemount hails from Australia where so many great options for a shiraz are at hand. I recommend dropping a bit more coin for one of Mollydooker's lines. It is an unfair comparison to this Rosemount, but Mollydooker's Carnival of Love is worth the price of entry. With that said, I have enjoyed several of Rosemount's red blends in the past, as well as their white blends. Although I hate being robbed of the experience of popping the cork (screw tops are characteristic of many, but not all Australian wines), I try not to let that bias my opinion about the juice inside of the bottle. I rate the 2013 Rosemount Estate Shiraz as 83 points.

Really not all that bad. Maybe a slight hint of residual sugar. Soft and smooth rotary fermenter style. Deep rich dark red color. The nose is fairly simple with ripe red raspberry and vanilla. The kind of somewhat nondescript type of fruit you get with an 85 point wine, nothing wrong, but sort of made to a formula. Nice little bit of tangy tartness on the roof of the mouth.
