L07, disgorged April 2014. There's a slight bit of biscuit on the nose as well as some slight ripe apple notes that makes me think this is a pinot-heavy cuvee. I could look that up later on, but I'm going to leave this here so when I discover it's a blanc de blancs I can memorialize my ignorance. In any case... there's a lot of red fruit on the nose and palate, or whatever evokes red fruit in my mind. This strikes me a bit less chalky and more limestone (but again, what do I know?). Lovely richness and density. There's a bitter almond/marzipan note on the midpalate and finish that I really love here, combined with the red delicious apples. Moderate (for champagne) acidity. A very well delineated bottle of bubbles. Yum.

We were introduced to this champagne by Nicolas, who is the most excellent sommelier at ON in Hong Kong. He was seeking a follow-up to the Emmanuel Brochet we sipped earlier. No easy task. We guessed it was Cedric Bouchard (one of our favourite "grower-producers") as he walked up with the bottle, but this was our first time sipping this heavy duty Pinot Noir that offers intense flavours and complexity. Ripe fruit aromas with an elegant, smoky finish. Did you say a middle age Sophia Loren? We dreamed of her...

Wow. Seriously deep, intense, complex wine. Needs a few years to really show but such a beautiful food wine even right now. Great acid, long finish, all balanced. Everything from nectarine salad to squid showed wonderfully with it. April 2014 disgorge, 2010 base.

Plenty of biscuit and toast on the nose, the palate is more simple and with no real length, the bubbles are relatively soft for champagne, it's round but doesn't really do much for me, though it's easy enough to drink now, best at cellar temp.

Champagne of Champions event at home. 100% Pinot Noir. To the eye, one would imagine this is 100% chardonnay as largely transparent. On the palate, one might expect even the best sommeliers, such as Ian, to guess it is a blanc de blanc. Powerful, well-structured with aggressive bubbles. A winner I would buy for home.

First slightly reductive, but opens up nicely in the big glass. Beautiful nose of hazelnut, yellow fruits, minerality (crushed stones, slate), peach, smoke. On the palate there is also some mint and tons of mineral tension. It's medium+ bodied and dense, almost creamy but with medium-high acidity providing a lot freshness. Small bubbles that are very elegant. Good length with a touch of bitterness adding complexity. What a beautiful and elegant Blanc de Noirs... and for this level of quality it's quite a value.

Tasted non blind.

Light yellow to yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of flowers, talc, ginger and soaked pears. Flavors of lemon, cherry and lime. Bright acidity, full bodied. Drink or hold.

our kids pre-ordered it for us for our anniversary dinner at Craige on Main in Cambridge. What a nice surprise, and, of course, perfect with everything we ordered, especially the pork and sausage-stuffed chicken. Despite being served in narrow flutes, it opened up beautifully throughout the meal, nicely acidic with pronounced red fruit.

This is very Pinot Noir in character, with lingering aromas and flavors of currant and raspberry candy. This has put on significant weight since last tasted. This is not heavy; rather the fruit has now stepped forward and the mineral edge has softened considerably. One would think this was dosed, at least with a few grams. Amazing what a nondosage Champagne can do with a little bottle age. Drinking well now.

Color pale yellow. Nose lemon peel, herb, buttered popcorn and toast. Medium weight, meyer lemon and green apple, follow by roasted nuts and sweet herbs. Nice acidity. Very enjoyable now but just beginning its drinkable stage will revisit in another 2-3 years. Disgorged April 2014.

Great champagne. Lovely, almost Burgundian nose that you should stop and enjoy. Lots of depth; some brioche and that, but wow, that finish! An initial hit of alpine strawberry that morphs into all sorts of strange and delicious things. Chameleon. Beautiful. Yum.

Yellow mature apples, walnuts, caramel, bread and butter. Elegant and on the same time flirtatious and generous. Light mousse that disappears quickly. Surprisingly much fruit on the palate together with caramel and bread. No sugar added although it feels kind of creamy and almost sweet in the aftertaste. Yellow apples, mango and caramel shining together with a dusty layered minerality. Perhaps a bit short aftertaste with an energetic zing of lemon sorbet. The drinkability is just through the roof and despite it's youth I think there's small fractions of early maturity in there, simply a wonderful Champagne from a very interesting producer. Highly recommended.

This stratches all the right spots for my champagne liking, although not for everyone. You definetely feel the non dose character in this bone dry and slightly bitter expression of a Blanc de Noir. Nose is wonderful mineral with red jonagold able, abricot, and a bit of freshly baked rye bread. Palate is full on with leafy, slightly bitter fruit, sour able, celery, with excellent lenght and great tension in the mouthfeel, very full flavored despite its young age. Will probably mellow out a bit with more age but i quite like its expression now.

Orange tinged pink color. Initially the nose was quiet restrained with time in glass floral and herb elements emerged. Took about a hour in the glass to really begin to shine with berries and dried herbs. An enjoyable wine, but I question the QPR here.

Popped & poured, this wine came away way too young and unbalanced. Left 2/3 in the bottle for 6+ hours, then decanted for another hour or so. To me a whole different experience - now it was delicious, creamy, with great minerality and balanced acidity. Perfect for lobster au natural, in my book. This wine will improve, no doubt, but I am so happy I opened a bottle today.

Pale colored. Ripe red apple, red berry and then a range of mineral notes - wet stone, oyster shell salinity, flint. Nice contrast of this minerality with the ripe pinot fruit as there is warmth and exuberance to the fruit and density in the mouth but it finishes with an impression of cool, lean stoniness. Complex, interesting and also really enjoyable to drink. Drank this over 10hrs and the last sips were the best. Impressive stuff. April '12 disgorge.
