A nice value down the middle Cab that drank well over two nights. This isn't really exciting, but it shows the varietal well and has more elegance than most domestic (or otherwise) at the (Seattle email shop) price.

Pretty substantial bottle variation. This bottle was more like my first, very right bank and a very nice wine.

Made in the New World style, but with a charm and verve uncommon to similarly priced wines. It would likely hold its own in a line up of $30+ offerings.

Big bright red and dark fruits, but with serious tannin even after being opened for slow ox. I just think the winemaker used to much new oak as some is integrating, but I worry that it will outlast the fruit of 2007. still a good example of classic wA state Syrah, before the over extracted stuff became popular. Wahluke Slope terroir as his is a warm sight almost every year

Very nice bottle, and a bargain at $20. Raspberry, blueberry, and smoke. Medium-full bodied, nice balance.

This bottle was better than the last and really wonderful with a pan fried steak. Deep black cherry, some saddle leather tobacco, smooth silky tannins, but relatively easy going wine that was food friendly. Decent acidity, completely drinking well now. Much different han my last bottle, but that was a decent food wine as well. No more bottles now, I wish I had a few more.

Oaky and rich. Not my style but I can understand its appeal. If it had more backbone to support it would be balanced.

Rich, dark flavors with velvety tannins made this quite delicious. Certainly ready to drink.... Perhaps very soft, so better paired with lighter food; not steak.

Black fruit and black coffee nose marred by whiff of plastic. Restrained midpalate that never gets to where it seems like it might go with more time in the glass (at least in the hour or so we gave it), dry/too dry, with bitter finish. We were unable to finish a second glass/dumped the rest.

I am utterly shocked by this wine. I consumed a second bottle because the first one was so easy drinking and the wine was so inexpensive. Why I am blown away was that I have had a glass or two from this bottle over four full days and it has just stayed balanced. Full bright red cherries, no harsh green notes, the tannins kick up a level after day two, but aren't out of balance wit the wine or the acid/mineral combination. Again some dark chocolate secondaries from the light oak touch. i can't believe this held together with just a cork and fridge, no argon, no vaccu-vin and a steal for under $15.

Drank this wine with dinner and was impressed, figured it so be a 30-40 dollar bottle, when I looked up the real price I was shocked. A screaming deal if there ever was one. Dark red fruit on the nose with nothing out of order, everything was working perfectly on the palate. Got better when in the glass for about 20 minutes. Should have bought more of this wine, major mistake on my part. Like CiH, I will be checking with DP to see if he has any more of this left.

Wow, this was a very nice drinking wine on a Saturday night with burgers. Very deep dark color of deep red, which matched the scent of deep dark red cherry in a slightly reductive fruit filled wine, with adequate and silky tannins some mineral and a lower acid than most but this drank incredibly silky. Not a whole lot of secondary notes, not smelling or tasting any vegetals, but some black tea and no noticeable oak, but its integrated already as a touch of dark chocolate. Nice finish too. Compared to the 2007, which was heavily oaked and still a bit unruly, this is open for business and a steal. I hope DP has more left.

Popped and poured. This wines from Saint Laurent always seem to drink much better than their price would indicate. The bottle took about an hour to open up and really show well. Initially it was a touch thin. Nose of ripe strawberry, raspberry liqueur, coriander, toffee and espresso. The palate had more ripe strawberry and blueberry notes along with a touch of vanilla. The tannin structure creeps up on you and really hits in the back of the palate before moving back forward to the tip of the tongue. Medium weight mouth feel. The finish tends to be a little too oak centric. Would purchase again.

Well made Merlot that is drinking very well now. Understand that this may taste a little thin upon opening, as I did a PNP, but it thickens up and shows its easy going Merlot personalty from WA. Dark fruits with a touch of red dominate with some vegetal and spice notes, but silky smooth tannins and acid that is appropriate keep tis in the bottom of the excellent category. Nice and smooth finish with dark fruit and drying tannin, but if you have had world class Merlot this is far from it, thought easy drinking and very easy to appreciate a good Merlot, without the candy and a lower aBV than you are seeing these days.

Similar to the last bottle, deep and dark, with nice complex slightly sweaty, blackberry and dark cherry fruit. Tasty, berry and cherry fruit on the palate, dry , but the tannins are soft, nice milk chocolate

This had the corked pulled this morning with a pour into the decanter, and then poured back into the bottle. I left the cork off and let the slow ox take place over the next 4-5 hours. The wine is starting to show what its made of as the tannins softened, but were still present as chewy mouth coating but held in check by the acid and hard mineral backbone. Mulberry fruit with blackberries some sandalwood and vanilla from the oak starting to come around and white peppercorns on the nose and showing a little kick after the fruit in the mouth. Great qpr, and again patience as these are built to go another 20 years.
