An odd off-balanced combination of vanilla, butterscotch, banana and white stone fruit. Finished with a strange tangy, bitter end.

A fragant blend of black cherry and wild berries, this juice has firm tannins and a delicate trace of wood on its finish, mainly cedar. Overall, the main feature are the violet and lavender scents. Whiffs of vanilla are also present, as a bit of black olive and balsamic notes. Hold

Incredible wine with steak; huge fruit, tons of personality; buy more and buy often; big and, but perfect with a big smokey steak; black currents on the bouquet, sweet up from my but finishes with a big grape flavor

This was a wonderful bottle of wine! I decanted it, gave it an hour of air, and it drank beautifully. It was not "old" as Parker predicted it would be when he tasted it 5 years ago. Full of intense dark fruit, deep red in color, no orange, no oxidation. Perhaps it is peaking now, but it has a few years left. I am glad I have one bottle left.

These were our wines with Turkey dinner on T day. Spot on, I tell you. This was perfectly aged and delivered on all of the usually central coast Pinot notes. A lot of old world staying power with the Saxon Brown stuff, could hold another year or two, but why wait!

Hot and extracted style. Nose of predominate blackberry and Chambord. Fleshy mouthful. Plenty of tannin remains. Quite youthful yet. Lots of life left.

First Trip to Napa Valley and San Francisco: Cabernet Sauvignon Addition; 10/1/2015-10/10/2015 (Napa Valley and San Francisco): Tasted on the Napa Valley Wine Train with India.
Appearance: Opaque, Dark ruby red.
Nose: Cherry liquor, cedar and a little bit of anise.
Palate/Finish: Semi sweet, full body, strong tannins 8/10, very youthful. Maybe it needs some more time, alcohol is a little high. Furry, thick.
Opinion: made me think of sourdough, needs more time to develop.

Soft and oily in appearance, dark garnet in color. Aromas of ripe fruit, chocolate, wild herbs, and vanilla. Warm and embracing on the tongue, supple tannins and voluptuous fruit.

Followed over two days. Dark garnet core with a little bricking on the rim. A big, full bodied style of Pinot Noir. Even at almost ten years old, the fruit is still out in front of the structure. The acid & tannins are present and provide a good counterpoint to the richness. Round edges here & quite easy to drink. I imagine a heavy oak treatment here as it shows that spice & mocha along with the red fruited layers. A little distracting, but nothing negative.

This is a good wine, but it could use a bit more finesse & grace to balance the power. The second day showed a real lift to the aromatics which was a bit of a surprise.

A lot of wood coming through. This is a little too Cali styled for me with the Malo-Lactic acid profile. Darker fruit and spice. Not what I was going for. A little too dense and overpowering.

You can tell this is a well made wine though. Just not hitting the Pinot stride I'm looking for.

Edit: after an hour and a half of being open, this wine is much more subdued. I'm still getting a touch too much wood, but it is 100 times better. Suggest you un cork it, put the cork back in the bottle, and wait a couple of hours. Now it's yummy.

A little closed and oaky. An hour decant and it was like a blast of oak and some dark fruit. Good and deep if you're looking for something powerful. Overpowered grilled filet a touch, but not overly so. Not what I was shooting for tonight.

This is a deep, inky, tannic Syrah bomb. I remember liking 07 better.
