The bouquet is really what blew me away. Every time I took a whiff, I got something else. Fruit? All of them... Strawberry, blackberry, plum, gooseberry. Bit of floral as well, some rose mixed in. The palate was smooth, starting off with a bit of spice, then moving to leather and a bit of earth and hint of molasses. Very smooth. Straight to carafe, drank over 6 hours, probably best at 2.5? |

Outstanding in all respects with spectacular fruit and superbly balanced tannins and a long finish. Very young. Most at the dinner had this Schrader as the wine of the night but I much preferred the mountain fruit from Impassable. It was a privilege to taste them side by side; for me there is a clear difference between fruit from steep slopes and fruit from bench land. |

Tasted blind among five of the best 2007 California Cabs (all rated 100 pts RP) and yet it distinguished itself and was unanimous WOTN. This wine is like an exploding ordnance of flavors in the mouth, with heavy backbone and perfectly structured for a long life in magnum. On a 100 pt scale I would rate this 101. I hope I live another 50 years to see how this beauty develops. Drink now - 2100. |

I have gravitated toward Bevan CS the past few years because my wife and I both prefer fruit-forward wines. Not alcoholic fruit bombs, but 10 pounds of fruit shoved into a one-pound bag. This is very young and super primary, but wow does it have tremendous potential. Super concentrated and pure dark black and blue fruit hit the palate with enough restraint to keep the wine very focused. Full bodied, the tannins are profound yet not harsh and the structure is fantastic for a valley floor wine. There are layers and layers of flavor with lots of earthy character. It finishes very long.
