Beautiful bottle of wine and ready to drink now. Tannins fully integrated, very smooth. Classic Napa Cab.

Excellent. Foresty nose, very smooth and rich on the palate. Lots of earth and black cherry. This wine has held up very well.

Very nice wine tonight. I believe this wine has reached maturity, but it really only did so after about 2 hours of decanting. By the time it got there, about 80 percent of the bottle was gone. Wine was uncorked and poured a dark red color into the glass. A little bricked on the edge and I expected this at 10 yrs post vintage. The nose was fig and some slightly aged blackberry with some kind of minty note. Some herbaceousness was there as well. The wine entered soft on the palate. At first, the palate imitated what the nose was producing, medium+ body. Middle and finish were blackberry, fig, aged saddle leather, green pepper, and finished with pepper and grit. Softened again around 2 hours and was giving good berry notes without as much herbaceousness. I think this one will continue to become more vegetal as it ages. I don't think it will improve any MORE in the bottle, but I think it will continue to drink well through 2020.

I was intrigued by the extreme disparity in the reviews of this vintage. However, I was pleasantly surprised! This wine drank great! Decanted two hours. Dark in color, no visible sign of aging. On the nose it does reveal vanilla as is typical for Silver Oak Cab. On the palate it was silky smooth with a pleasing palate of ripe dark berries and mellow spices. Ready to drink now before fruit starts fading.

I expected this well-stored bottle to be over the hill, and was pleasantly surprised. Faded but not yet gone, this smells and tastes like a very mature Bordeaux with some lingering tannins. Very nice.

Signature American oak on nose (love it). Dark fruit, medium body and finish.

Very well balanced. Cassis up front, transition to black cherry, finish with long soft tannins. Perfect with pasta.

Upon opening tannins still pronounced. After an hour of air fruit still alive and singing. Very nice old cab with life still in it.

I can why this wine polarizes. Distinctly modern in approach with a very strong presence of new oak and a very fruit forward approach, although it lacks the plum based over extraction I find in some other more modern wine approaches. It still maintains a decent balance even with all the plush fruit. It's not super tannic so it's approachable young with a short decant. Whether one is a modern fan or a fan of a less forward approach, it's hard to argue that this is not a very good bottle of wine taken on its own merits.

Really smooth and at a good drinking point but came across fairly light and not much structure following a 2010 Staglin Estate cab and 2012 Paul Hobbs Beckstoffer Dr Crane cab. Very easy drinking. I personally can't see this getting better with more time in light of how everything is integrated.

Lighter in color than I expected. Less oak than any other silver oak I have had. Lighter in body and easy to drink. Not much going on. Not much complexity but not horrible what so ever. Considering 2007 was an amazing year for California wines, they missed the boat with this one.

Very intense nose of ultra-sweet cassis, blackberries and new oak. Quite rich on the palate with ripe fruit flavors of blackberries and cassis. There is a good structure underneath the wine and while the finish turns a bit jammy, this is one Silver Oak I could tolerate. A better wine than they've made in a while.

i can certainly see why some might give this a higher score and why others might go lower for this is a bit schizoid in character

Rather raw oak nose which is arguably its biggest flaw. Also dark red fruit. Relatively well integrated palate with substantial dried dark red fruit. Overall somewhat intense yet subdued fruit. ( yes I realize that seems contradictory but it is a fresh/dried fruit yin/yang thing.

Overall impression is a nice but heavily manipulated wine that is to me not as appealing as it could be. Nice but not impressive. Disappointing for the price.

Too much oak in the aftertaste.

At home with Valerie, pulled this one after a long week...Still hanging in there. Nose had a little old furniture/shoe polish to it...unusual for a Silver Oak. Didnt detract from the wine, smooth and well aged on the palate. Red fruits, "dusted" cherry, currants, tea. Medium finish. Tannins fully resolved.

The wine still drinks well, I may have a particularly well stored lot with my bottles. It is getting close to a tertiary phase. Best guess is to drink over next 3-5 years.

PS - still good on Day 2...a good sign the wine has some shelf life left

Dark purple color turning crimson at the rim. Attractive notes of raspberry, vanilla, oak and a hint of dill. The palate is full-bodied, dry with a good structure. This really needed time - at least 5 years before it came all together. Very consistent with the vintages 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2009. Drink now until 2025.

I let it open for 2 hours. Compared to 2010 vintage, the 2009 is better. If you are looking for a big, bold Cab, this one fits the bill!
