Funky mature nose of smoky licorice, sweet prunes, black fruits and minerals. Sweet and mature with flavors of charred earth, black cherry, menthol and prunes. The finish is still a bit tannic with nice complexity on the finish with notes of smoke, coffee and minerals. Delicious but a bit sweet now for my palate.

Austere and too young for drinking now. Full bodied, with tastes of leather, tar, cocoa, and a hint of earth, and a subtle something herbal lurking in the background. Tons of potential are rapped up in a dense, drying wine with big tannins that need to resolve.

Young, lovely, and open for business. Pleasantly surprised with the silky-smooth mouthfeel during the mid palate. Firm acidity on the back end led to a nice 40-second finish. Great with food. If this is any indication of 2010 Brunellos, wow!

Stored at 55 degrees, humidity controlled, since release.
Threw a huge amount of sediment upon decanting. Dense brackish color.
After half an hour, was quite impressive. Fruit still holding up well, but probably should be drunk fairly soon. Big, brawny, rich, but balanced, brunello. Would go with a steak -- a brunello in cabernet clothing.
24 hours later (gassed overnight). Really impressive. Silky, smooth, rich, dense, and gorgeous. I cannot think of a 20+ year old brunello I have had that is better.

Cherry/ruby colour. Aromas of cherries, florals and some orange peel. Medium to light bodied. Medium acidity. Some nice overall freshness to the wine although it does seem a little thinner then the previous bottle. Drying dusty tannins. Flavours of slight sour cherry, leather. Smooth and elegant at this stage.

Only a faint nose of cherry, the wine is more expressed on the pallette. Beautifullly silky red cherry fruit is mixed with some spice and Tuscan earthy/mineral notes, this is an elegant medium bodied wine. The fruit lingers so soft on the tongue and the acidity makes the wine feel light on its feet. Mature, if not a bit past peak, the wine was nonetheless a pleasure to consume, so easy to drink. Drink now as the fruit was a bit more faded since last bottle.

1st of 12, decanted an hour - dark and dense; classic black cherry and plum, if a bit monolithic; bit of a bruiser, full, long, chewy, initially impressive in an unnuanced way but quite tiring on the palate......we'll see. Not complex enough for better than very good indeed (17/20).

Dark ruby in color. Blueberry, blackberry and violet on the nose. Flavors of dark fruits, tobacco, spice and smoke. Pronounced tannins. Needs more time.

Not as bad as advertised on the site. Yes I had the same experience as most - white sludge that I filtered out, hot off the pop and high in acid but it calmed after a 3 hour decant. Ok it was a bit thin but paired well with a pasta and quite elegant in doing so

Lots of life left still in this wine it seems (contradicting tasting note from a year ago). Dark brooding, smokey and meaty yet silky smooth on the palete and finishes with a nice touch of acidity. Alas my last bottle.

Great Wines of Italy Tasting 2015 -- Tuscany (NYC): Dark cherry, round edges, long and layered. Wood frames the fruit. Cab-like wine, but more smooth. Quite different from the smoky/sandalwood aromatic wines. Very good.

The Pacenti Rosso was quite beautiful today and showed potential for the cellar. The nose was intense and forward with tart cherry, pine nettle, minerals and floral notes. On the palate lean red fruits gave way to dried spices and herbs, showing refined tannin and excellent balance. Notes of tart cherries and herbs lingered long on the structured finish. This is a Rosso that had wished to be a Brunello; it's quite impressive.

The nose showed striking intensity, yet polished with its dark-red fruits, dusty spice, dry coco, earth and woodland tones. It opened on the palate with richness, showing depths of dark cherry, cedar, and hints of bitter chocolate. Dusty tannin lingered on the finish with a nutty, coco and espresso note. This is a dark beauty, and quite stylish, yet young and in need of 5+ years in the cellar.

This is good stuff. Nice color, no signs of age. Big nose bringing raspberry jam, definitely more red fruit here, with some candied odors too. Big fruit palate, nice acidity and a long finish. Had plenty of acid to handle pizza. Much better than a previous bottle I remember. (Enjoyed more with the pizza than after...tannins still somewhat tough when on its own.)
