Ripe plum on the nose. Intense, concentrated, balanced and long. A full wine that never feels overwhelming. Evolving complexity with spice notes in the finish. Delightful and better than many wines at two or even three times the price.

Tasted better at the tasting room, should have held out at least another year to drink. Fresh, acidic, peaches and pears on the nose.

Originally tasted this wine at a TR in Carmel in 2009. Bought it because we usually buy something whenever we taste but were not too impressed. Squirreled it away and opened it just now in 2012. It has definitely improved with the aging and is not showing signs of decline. Initially had a mineral nose but later opened up to reflect more balanced notes of acacia and lemon. Tasting revealed a nice feel on the palate with faint vanilla notes in the background and new oak but not the overly oaked taste of some California wines. Reminded me just a little of a Burgundy Chardonnay. Very nice and above average effort for Carmel Valley. Enjoyed it.

Surprisingly restrained versus the rest of the Parsonage line....a really enjoyable pinot. Kudos for recognizing that different grapes often require different techniques.

This wine is squarely in a category I usually avoid - sweetish, high-alcohol oaky new world red blends. But it is distinguished by its interesting mix of flavors (cherry, pomegranate, baking spices, a hint of olive) and its lack of overly hot or jammy notes. It is actually quite an enjoyable wine, one that I wouldn't hesitate to pour at a party with non-corkdork friends. I think that they would like the label, too.

This blend, or "cuvee" hails from the same vineyard and vine rows as the 2006 "Snos Red." This one has 80% merlot and 20% syrah. the 2007 has a little more depth and complexity than the 2006, but they are surprisingly similar in their expression of terroir. There are oodles of bright dark and red berry fruit with creamy toast in the nose. The mouth-coating palate smacks of ollalie/blackberry, cherry, blueberry and plum with firm tannins and smoky oak shadings on the finish. Tasty and pleasing in its youth, even better through 2020.

2 hour decant. Cloudy, dusty, burgandy color. Menthol, pomegranate, meat nose, fir, sweet tart berry, vanilla, spice, medium tanin. Needs a little time, but enjoyable right now.

Grenache Syrah blend, 14% alcohol. Popped and poured. Garnet red color, nearly opaque. Closed down at first then vanilla, baking spices and some floral tones emerged on the nose. A little oak, strawberry and deep tart berry flavors, concentrated, a little sweet, but not overly so. As it opened a little pepper become apparent. I was told the 2008 Grenache Syrah blend was a first for the winery. Excellent effort. A delicious QPR for sure. Would buy again.

Huge Merlot. Loads of sweet fruit, almost syrupy. A little bit of earthiness, but the red fruit really dominates. I'd give this a few years and hopefully it will evolve.

Medium-to-full bodied. Ripe, jammy, easy-drinking wine. Not particularly complex, but an everyday drinker and crowd pleaser. I enjoyed it with a selection of cheeses, and a grilled steak.

Opened as a second wine after a very nice bottle of zin. A big wine at first - pepper, leather, coffee. The wine was disappointing; I remembered a much better wine at the tasting room, though it was one of the last of the day. I hoped it would taste better the next day. It was somewhat better, still had a hint of pepper, but not as good as remembered at the tasting room.
