Pop n pour and consumed over a few hours. Out of Zalto burg stem and the nose sings with decadent black cherry, dark chocolate, cream and Christmas spices -- a dead ringer for Ben & Jerrys Cherry Garcia. Palate has full body for a Pinot with round, smooth edges and moderate acidity. Medium dark cherry and cream finish is a little warm as it lingers. A tasty and rich Pinot.

granted I don't too much experience with cali chardonnay, but I thought this was excellent. very reminiscent of Rivers-Marie SC chard, which I also very much enjoyed. balanced by tropical fruits and some nice acidity. a medium weight on the palate.

Although this wine is still very young, it is a lovely pinot. The nose has a combination of light floral (daisy) and dark/light fruit notes.

The color is a rich ruby.

The mouthfeel is rich and creamy with well-balanced acidity.

On the palate, the notes from the nose continue and are combined with some hints of cinnamon.

Looking forward to seeing how this one ages!

Popped and poured. Sipped over a few hours

This served its purpose of a fruit forward midweek drink with just enough racy coast acidity, higher toned fruit and a plush coating palate to initiate the wind down from a hectic day. Also serves as a solid go-to in our home when entertaining.

Bigger than expected and quite impressive. This needed to be decanted a couple hours and it mellowed out. Not too heavy and perfect balance. Wish I had more. 92/93

A very well-balanced and understated Pinot. Light with a smooth finish. Earthiness, strawberry and cherry. Opened and poured; did not decant. Drinking beautifully now.

Blackfruit, floral and spices on the nose. Accessible from opening, but opened up and integrated quite well the longer it was open. All blackfruit upfront, primarily black raspberry and black cherry. Red cherry and tart red fruit notes towards the back. Light spices notes on the finish as it gains in density, but what really made the finish outstanding was the beautiful mineral streak and the fruit-balancing acidity. My prior bottle (June 2015), I thought was more tannin based, but as I had hoped, this wine has continued to come together and now seems more acidity driven. Prior reviewer MMCDDS had it exactly right; this may have been more fruit forward earlier in its life, but it has balanced out exceptionally well. I think you can expect a bit more improvement over 2016, maybe into 2017 and then should hopefully hold at that level for a bit longer.

The nose is exuberant. Tons of strawberry and red cherry. Some Pinot funk. Maybe a little too exuberant for me! The silkiness on the palate is unmistakably sojourn. But overall the fruit is too much for me. Luxurious verging on slutty. But the finish lacks the acid and zip that I'm looking for. There was some mineralogy in there but not much. On Day 2, the fruit seemed to have settled down a bit, a little less "sweet" and with some savory elements. I could see drinking this with food. The wine I drank yesterday, not so much.

Crimson color. Bright Bing cherry, sassafras and brambly cherry compote. Medium (+) intensity. Plump black cherry, Asian spice and sassafras on the palate. Caramel and root beer on the medium finish. Delicious.

I really tried to lik this wine. But at the end of the day, there were too problems for me; too much oak, and not enough acid. The fruit was still there and was sold - peach, pineapple and pear. The texture, as with all the sojourns, was awesome. But the creamy, vanilla-tinged notes tilting towards butterscotch turned me off. The mineral notes that I got in the last couple bottles was not present. This is an excellent, well made wine. It's just not my style.

Since I couldn't make to it Pinot Days in NYC thanks to the blizzard, I decided to open this. Good pairing with homemade chicken soup. On pop 'n pour, this was ready to drink. It's full bodied, rich, and elegant. Considering this is an entry level Sojourn, I was pleased. It's really good. Nose and taste of cherries and spice. I've always said that I like my Sojourn wines with some age, and was proven right again! Drank over 5 hours.

With any Pinot I have I feel the need for a disclaimer in that I am not a huge fan of Pinot. Lovely nose on this wine, followed by some spice with mild OH. I had this right between the Rodgers Creek and Sangiacomo Pinots.

Wonderful earthy tones, with hints of bell pepper and other vegetables. Some spice, but not overwhelming. Well structured with some nice complexity on the finish.

Flash decanted and returned to the bottle for a 2 1/2 hour slow ox. This was tight and seemed very young. I would suggest a full multi hour decant if you open it now. Huge nose of dark fruit primarily dark black cherry. Palate leaned more to deep blackberry. I will stash mine in the back of the cellar for a while.

Flash decanted and returned to the bottle for a 2+ hour slow ox. This was by far the most ready to drink of the four spring release pinots. Very balanced. Had some the next day after VinVac and it was exactly the same.

Flash decanted and returned to the bottle for a 2 hour slow ox. Vibrant nose of red fruit and some spice. Complex with great length. Cherry, raspberry with great layers of earth and mushroom and even a little tar. I couldn't stop thinking that it would pair greatly with mushroom risotto. I believe this has room for improvement. 92-93 today.
