Palate has so much concentration and balance: black cherry, maybe some raspberry with an earthy forest edge, subtle and integrated oak treatment, good acidity. I’m sure this will drink nicely for its entire lifetime, but it’s really asking for 5+ years in the cellar. Lucky you to have a bottle around 2029-2033. |

4/5/2024 - The Drunken Cyclist Likes this wine: 93 pointsRetail $45. Heavy Bottle (627g; 1lb 6.1oz). I first tasted this for the Sixth Annual Blind Tasting of American Pinot Noir and it was off. And that is being kind. I did not rate the wine at the time since I figured that what I tasted was not what the winemaker intended. I think I was right as this bottle? Pretty close to gangbusters. Wonderful dark elements along with bright cherry on the nose, and plenty of fruit, spice, earth, and even chutzpah on the palate. Yeah. Either that first bottle was off or it just needed some time to settle down, because this wine? Whoa. 93 Points. |

Dark fruits, ample but smooth tannins, well-balanced acidity, and overall a muscular interpretation of pinot. Not my preferred style, but unimpeachable in the execution. QPR doubtful due more to the P than the Q. |
