It was very good. Although from one of the more commercial vineyards it was a highlight and ready to drink now. The depth was good, and almost a silkyness with most taste at the front with a little late taste at the back of the tongue.

Aromas of rich peach and nectarine and spicy armond. The palate is rich full bodied with stone fruit and citrus fruits and clove and armond. A fantastic acid back bone that will ensure this wine lives for many more years

Looks very old, red with some bricking and pale rim
spicy, leathery nose with some dark fruit, ripe and a little blowsy
Lacking fruit and focus.
Leathery finish, spicy. Warming spicy finish
Probably a bit too old

Light golden yellow in the glass. Fresh delicate fruit on the nose with some nice oak. Very pleasant fruit on the palate showing medium body with a firm lingering finish. Good texture and mouthfeel.

For a minute or so after opening it revealed nothing, but then burst into glorious life: caramel, lemon, melon, vanilla, banana - altogether, strangely and pleasantly reminiscent of banoffee pie! (Not a comparator I've ever thought of before, but it seems very right here.) Full and rich on the palate, with just a touch of heat from the alcohol. Acidity definitely on the wane, as before, but there's still enough, just, to keep it fresh. Big and bold, and a perfect match for seared Orkney scallops in a cream sauce. All in all, a great bottle (two in fact, identical) from one of my Aussie favourites. 14%, screwcap.

Agree with previous TN. Nice beetroot flavour profile. Some oak well integrated. Lacking complexity but plenty of charm.

At its peak. Colour has started to turn. Beautiful nose followed by a rich red fruit pallet. Pitty it was my last one.

Nice, cheerful, bright-fruited Pinot with more raspberry than cherry and some good mushroomy depth on the nose.

Opened and decanted 1 hour. No sediment, but just to open it up. Realy good Pinot nose and palete. Long finish. Good now but would cellar for 2 to 3 years easily.

Attractive light gold. Wow, beautiful nose: sweet oak, caramelised apple...some other fruit...melon? pear?? On the palate: full-flavoured, full-bodied (alcohol an integrated part of that), long, well-balanced. Acidity dropping away a bit now compared to the last bottle I had, hence one point less. Still a superb bottle of wine, by no means past its best. Confirms my belief in Stonier as one of the finest Australian Chardonnay producers, well worth cellaring. Screwcap.

Pale straw colour. Light melon and subdued oak character on the nose. Light and dry but fresh, simple and reserved. Certainly not a buttery/oily style of chardonnay, but refreshing and crisp with a nice texture on the finish.

Friday late night drink with Davyd. Screw-cap bottle. Pop and poured.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of dried flowers, earth, red cherry, and hints of smoky oak. Developed.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol, medium- tannins, medium- body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of earth, red cherry, strawberry, cranberry. Medium- finish.
Good quality. Overall taste is easy on the mouth and refreshing, but lean style and towards being dilute. Not for further ageing. Drink up.

Bright light red colour. Firm dry fruit nose. Savoury fruit on the palate. This is a delightful pinot that has great fruit depth and texture. A grown-up pinot with a reserved savoury rather than cherry finish.

The wine is medium red in colour and shows it's cards early with layers of dark cherry, ripe stem and earth on the nose, building expectations of the palate.

Expectations are certainly met with the wine built around a bed of fine lingering tannins that frame the stewed cherry that combines with blackberry and cloves. The finish reaches a spicy crescendo of berry fruit and has superb length.

The nose has exotic and enticing aromatics of fig, peach and spicy, toasty oak.

The palate shows superb concentration of fig and nectarine fruit that is cut through by spicy oak integration and balanced acidity. The finish has excellent length and focus with a touch of malo complexity coming into play.

Medium yellow in colour, the wine is stonefruit dominant with ripe fig and toasted oak undertones on the nose.

The palate is medium weighted with supple peach, melon and a slight buttery complexity , the acid is only just holding with the wines typical precision and focus starting to fade.

Drink in the shorter term

Medium red in colour the nose has stem, cherry and subtle oak influences. The palate is light to medium bodied with cherry fruit that lacks drive over the mid palate. The finish shows silky tannins, integrated oak and spicy stem characters. The wine certainly has potential to develop more weight over time.

Light straw yellow in colour the nose shows perfumed oak with peach and melon.

The palate has a balanced structure with well handled acidity and oak integration. In terms of fruit there is nectarine and peach that gains subtle spice and complexity, the finish has good persistence with stone fruits lingering, a good early drinking example of Stonier Chardonnay

A private lunch (Restaurant Yamazato *, Amsterdam, NL): Fragrant, lifted nose, sweet strawberries, lactic touch, flowers, dried spices, good depth, nutty warmth, mineral freshness; the palate displays lovely tension between mineral freshness and sweet fruit, light weight, elegant, just a hint of tannin; relatively dry finish, hint of tea, good length.

Celebrating Beaujolais Nouveau 2014 (Pine Close): Pop and poured. Consumed over 2 hours.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon-yellow colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of lightly toasted buttery oak, stony + saline minerality. With more air, sea-salt/brine/seafood aromas. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of lightly toasted oak, butter-cream, stony + saline minerality, and citrus lemon-lime. Medium+ finish. Minerality gained a bit more intensity with more air. Just the right touch of oak, great balance and nice minerality.
Very good quality. Reminiscent of a good premier cru Chablis. The minerality could still develop slightly more over the next 2 years, and will hold well for at least another 2-3. Can drink and enjoy now too.
