Nice bottle. Didn't seem as lively and deep as the last one or as merryberry's note.

Perfect for sitting on the patio and sipping this chilled. Lots of tropical fruit and some lychee (don't know if that is a tropical fruit). Long finish. Great value.

I think this wine is peaking, so drink up. Slow-ox'd for 60 minutes. This is a dark wine. A hint of sweetness. Some tannins. A little herbal. After being open for 6 hours on Fathers Day, the wine was a little tangy. On day 2, the wine was slightly better. There's still wine leftover. Sigh. This was purchased at the tasting room with Larry.

Semi-translucent, orange-tinged magenta. Funky strawberry, dirt, and pomegranate nose. Medium bodied, very smooth entry, crushed cherries, leather, lots of pepper, well integrated tannins, sage, a bit of smoke and heat, and a relatively long finish that grows sweeter as it lingers. It has some very unique notes that are appreciated. Don't think it will get any better.

Like many of the Tercero whites, I think this showed better as it warmed to room temp. Interesting and enjoyable drink.

This is a killer Grenache. No formal notes, but loved this wine. Well done.
I remember thinking this is what I want when I want a Cali Grenache.

I hardly drink any whites from the US anymore but this is pretty good and interesting. A slight whiff of diesel on the nose that fades with air. Some floral notes too. On the palate the wine is soft textured but then finishes with crisp acidity. Some pear, melon and blanched almond.

Relatively dark crimson-magenta. Lots of strawberry, a bit of mushroom, and warm leather on the nose. Medium bodied, fresh raspberries, juicy tart cherries, well integrated tannins, spices, and a long sweet finish. Very well made and delicious.

Again, this becomes more flavorful and interesting as it warms to room temperature, with some tropical fruit notes, petrol in kind of a viscous package. Funny, when it was cool right from the fridge, this had a pronounced bitterness to it which disappeared as it warmed and became a bit sweeter.

Really evolving nicely but who ages rosé? Well, everybody probably should. The stone fruit is now embraced with more earthy and herbs. Very dry, no sugary sweet stuff here. World class rosé for the Francophile in all of us.

Super pale. Watermelon on the nose, tomato water and fresh bay leaf on the palate. More aromatic and more concentrated than most pinks, and the finish goes long. A stunner.

P&P through Vinturi. A bit closed off, but seems to be opening up a bit with some time. I'm going to come back to this tomorrow night, but still a solid showing. I always love drinking White Hawk Syrah.

(tasting room visit} I suppose anyone can claim anything (on the back label) when it comes to marketing jargon such as 'inspired by (insert region/style here)', but it's entirely another thing to actually deliver on that claim. And, for my palate, that's exactly what Larry's done here, to capture the essence of Mourvedre in a rosè that brings me as close to Bandol as I'm going to get this year. Absolutely begs for food, with my mind immediately drawn to how many wonderful things I could serve this with - from salads to BBQ pork. Foot stomped and tank fermented, this is an excellent expression of Mourvedre's unique character in a fresh, and inviting style. Worthy of a case(s) purchase, get some before it's gone. recommended.

Served non-blind.

Enjoyed this again - it seems to have settled down a bit since I last tried it. The dark, brooding nature of this wine is still there, though, and it really delivers a great drinking experience. I had this as a late night cocktail and it was great, though I think this shows better with a hearty meat and potatoes meal.

This is a balanced white with really interesting aromas and flavors. Flavors enhance as it warms up from fridge temperature. I wouldn't put this in the "refreshing and crisp" category -- it really drinks more like a serious red wine and has some weight to it.

Ruby color. Dark but not opaque. Clear.

Lovely nose. Ripe raspberry. Get black pepper, alcohol burn for sure. Host of baking spices. Smelling cooked pie crust. Now getting black fruit.

Palette - it's the bramble fruit, but have to say, there is a bitterness, stems, pits, astringent tastes that seem more prominent than fruit right now. Hoping it opens up a bit as it is exposed to air. A little too bitter right now. Bitter finish not as much alcohol as I expected from nose. Feels textured with the tannins. Pairing with duck so let's see how it opens up once the dinner is ready.
-------------

Ok after being open 45 minutes, I'm happy. This is the thing with this wine. You must let it sit open for a little while, and then it starts to show. You cannot be impatient.

Nose has become luscious. Dark fruits and baking spices, some alcohol burn but not as pronounced as before.

On palette, lovely. Lots of fruit. That bitterness/astringent thing has disappeared. ripe black and dark red fruits. Ripe. Black pepper, getting much more ripe cherry this time. Tannins don't feel as integrated. They linger on the finish.

All in all an interesting wine, flavorful, evolves as you drink it, not sure I'm loving the pairing with the duck breast recipe (mango sauce). The pepper is too pronounced and dominates the fruit and think I would prefer more fruit. However, I wouldn't hold it against the wine maker!

Just make sure the wine is decanted or gets air before you drink it. Enjoy.

The steminess seemed to create a misleadingly sweet and floral bouquet, in contrast to the textured, rustic palate. An atypically meaty GSM.

All spice and stems, with more of a perfumed element than I'd expect in something aged only in neutral oak. Dried berries and violets on the palate. Needs a few more years for the disparate elements to integrate.

This bottle sat open in the refrigerator for 7 days and still held it all together. The framing around this wine is significant meaning a very long life ahead. Still primary and tannic, the dark fruit and herbal flavors are plentiful.
