Simple but satisfying. Good tannic structure that is easy to drink now. A nice choice for a daily nebiollo.

Wonderful food wine that went well with our Italian dinner. Very drinkable upon opening, as it doesn't have the huge tannins of a typical young nebiollo. Cherry and blackberry, with tar and expresso.

Start out with nice dusty tannins with good bite, some darker fruits, and good acidity. The nose is marginal and not that expressive. The initial structure doesn't last too long, but what remains is a very nice food wine. I love it for the price.

Really solid for the price. Started with the classic gripping tannins that I love with nebiollo, but those didn't last too long. What was left was a nicely drink wine with dark berries, earth, and softness on the finish.

Red and light garnet, almost white thin rim; after 2 hours in decanter nose of tar and a bit of flowers, after another couple of hours – more fruits, some light cedar wood; second day – addition of cooked black fruits including prunes. Medium body
Nicely integrated palate, good acidity, very fresh, nicely structured and food friendly; good entry level Barolo with great price/performance and at very good time slot, don’t think this will improve substantially.

A nice quite light wine. Fruity flavours with enough about it to stand up to mediterainian food and strong hard cheese. Not a complex wine or one to hold on to but enjoyable.

exceeds my expectations ... I keep expecting a $15 barbaresco.. and this shows up, .. not a great barbaresco, but wish I'd bet big on this with 2 or 3 case purchase... this is that family pizza night, or any pizza night wine that just delights all.... GREAT QPR!

From memory: Decanted and served. Medium brick. Nose of raspberries, roses, and asphalt, medium intensity and quite pretty. Not much fruit on the palate with a rubbery finish. Backwards wine. Medium + acid; medium alcohol, tannins; medium - body. I found this wine to be in prime drinking window(did not find it tannic at all) but not particularly enjoyable.

It's not a bad wine but just boring. Very light structure. Sine rustic notes.

Pretty tight when opened, it was transformed after 2 hours. Nicely tart with a great dark berry undertone and mid-tannins. Great Barbaresco, especially for the price. But definitely needs decanting right now.

My 3rd set of 4 from WTSO. Seems to show up every couple of months. Very solid wine. Drinkable pre dinner and does well with food. Lasts into the next day too. Have had this with pasta - tomato/meat as well as summer, steak, pizza, burgers, all sorts of stuff. Enough acid/fruit to do well. Very solid

This is pretty close to perfect right now. If someone's gotten more delight out of 20 bucks -- esp. one replete with leathery tertiary aromas on this level -- I wanna know about it.

Drank as accompaniment to Biba's mortadella-laced polpettone, a family favorite. Very happy to have one more.

Still really enjoy this after a few weeks of drinking (plenty of) other juice(s).

Consistent with previous note but feeling more descriptive this evening.

Light nose, some citrus and apple. On palate, the acid is electric so make sure to serve this well chilled.

In one sentence, this wine is what I imagine granny smith apple juice would taste like if it were diluted slightly, then treated with a dash of olive juice and muddled with lemon peel and some savory herbs. Very interesting.

Both times I've actually really enjoyed it with food due to that bracing acidity and savory profile, but as other notes suggest, it may have a better place as apertif. Either way, for the price around $10, huge QPR and I will buy more to have on hand.

Floral nose. Sour cherry, plum, spice, earth on palate. Fairly long finish. Tannins need more time to resolve.

Very nice brick color with thick slow legs. PnP gave nothing but tannins. Look up "closed wine" in the dictionary and you'll see a picture of this bottle just after opening. The Venturi to the rescue! Ten minutes and the fruit is beginning to show. I'm getting blackberry and granite on the nose, with black cherries, loam a bit of vanilla when the tannins softened. Nice long finish. Good balance between acidity and fruit. Try it again in a year.

Slow Ox for 60 minutes before initial smell and taste. Drank on porch with Grilled Tuna, Risotto with Porcini and Steamed Broccoli. Did not take detailed notes this time. Wine was delicious and balanced with cherry and dirt. We enjoyed it during and after dinner.

This is something really special and I wonder if you can still call this a wine, because alcohol and spices were added to give the wine its flavors. The bouquet holds the middle between medicines and an Indian spice box and perfumed soap. On the palate the same. Thyme, clove, cinnamon and cardamom as well. After the tasting I took the bottle home, but never felt like drinking it, so eventually it went down the drain. Really special stuff. No score.

After a week in France and lots of Bordeaux, it's difficult to transition to this particular Barolo. Light cherry red in color, some fruit on the nose. Relatively short, somewhat bitter finish with lots of tannin. Hopefully the tannins will smooth out with a bit more aging. I was suggesting an 85, but compromised at 87 because "the spousal unit" was pushing for an 88.
